In this clip you can clearly see and hear how Crosby, with his mellow baritone drawl, influenced not only later crooners such as Dean Martin but also rock n' roller Elvis Presley.

I have always admired the young Bing Crosby and his 30's movies and recordings. That golden baritone voice was at its best in those days. He was at the top of his game then. Thanks for the upload.

I think he''s best in 40s and early 50s but I admire his 30s singing as well
@croonyerzoonyer Жыл бұрын
@@muzafferelbeyli2756 absolutely no way. He even said in his book written in the early 50’s he didn’t sing anywhere near as good as he did in the early to mid 30’s.
@muzafferelbeyli2756 Жыл бұрын
@@croonyerzoonyer it's a subjective issue. But I guess that may be due to the records in 40s and 50s being of better quality. Another explanation is that now he had more competitors in 40s and 50s with whom he'll be compared with, not like in 30s and early 40s he is nearly the absolute king.

Bing Crosby sings, while lowering the larynx, that makes that deep sound ;-) And he also sings with a hero expression and also tenderness, and the vibrato is important ;-) Lovely this video of young Bing and the lovely Ladys.

This unfindable film is finally out on DVD at amazon! I saw this film once in the 80's on a slow TV night. So incredibly well-done daffy i wrote the numbers down. Thanks for posting! Recommend the movie 'isn't it Romantic' with Chevalier from the same year (1933) as well, for this over-the-top writing.

Went to visit Bela Lugosi's grave in LA some years ago and noticed how beautifully it was kept and with a single fresh yellow rose placed upon it. I was very moved as I told Bela about my new teeth which were bleeding and how I found his grave by accident after my dental appointment and then getting lost on the 405. Then I looked to my right and saw a very poorly kept grave with weeds and an askew gravestone. I looked close to see who was the abandoned soul. It was Bing Crosby. Go figure.

I work at a nursing home, and just the other day I met a new resident who told me she met Bing Crosby. Of course, I was intrigued, and asked her to explain. Well she'd been at a party talking to a young man when he asked where she was from: Everett, Washington. He says, my dad's from Washington! They talk a while, and he goes over to get his dad. It's Bing. He says, why on earth would ANYONE want to admit they're from Washington State? and she replies, because I'm from WESTERN Washington! (Only Washingtonians, and maybe some Idahoans, get this joke.) I apologize, I'm a little tipsy.

Sublime. He had such range and never seemed to strain. So smooth and and yet with the clean sounds and pure enunciation which later crooners struggled to imitate.

Bing Crosby was voted the best male entertainer of the 20th century . Connie Francis was voted the best female entertainer of the 20th century . I love it ! I think both Bing and Connie richly deserve the award . Bing recorded the song ' My Melancholy Baby on 12 - 12 - 1938 , the same day that Connie was born . Connie recorded the same song in the late 1950s .
