I love this au! Though I can't help but wonder. What exactly did Captain Wally Darling see in us that made him thinks "I want them on my crew?" It can't just be our apple cider-making skills, right?

It really was that, but there is a little more too it- Firstly, the fact that Captain raised himself meant he sort of grew up with mostly untamed greedy instincts. As a Siren he could get almost anything he wanted, as a pirate this most often led to stealing from nobles. No one can really stop him- and so if he wants something he feels he has free reign to take it. Secondly, he still does have morals, he justifies your supposed kidnapping with your own desires. Y/N WANTED to be a sea adventurer- but they couldn't gather the courage to leave their bar unattended long enough to pursue that dream. So Captain just gave them the push they needed. Lastly, the two fell in love with each other very quickly. It took Y/N a week to figure out that the crew weren't actually just very VERY strange humans, but they had fallen for the Captain and his antics sooner then that, and if they wanted to stay even after snapping out of his push of confidence then the Captain wasn't going to argue. Y/N was part of his pod now in his eyes, part of his hoard, his treasure, another thing for him to protect just like the rest of the crew.
