As someone who was the same age as these characters in the 80s and grew up in a beach town, I can tell you that OP (Ocean Pacific) was a big deal. Although, we rarely said "Ocean Pacific". Everyone just said OP (the letters Oh-Pee). And having the right label on your clothing was a status symbol. OP was the coolest brand of beach and casual wear. Sunbritches were a big thing as well. So yes, teens at that time would judge someone if they had OP-looking clothing without the OP insignia.

From her letters, El made it seem like she had a bunch of new friends and was thriving in California. So when Angela took her from the table, he probably thought “oh that was weird” but reserved judgment because these are “El’s friends.” We (the audience) KNOW that’s not her friend but Mike doesn’t.

The Demogorgon also doesn't stalk it's prey like that, either. The demogorgons are shown to just charge and chase. Vecna was definitely the one who made Will fall off his bike and opened that door.

I remember watching episode 4 when I was going through a horrible transition between two anti depressant medications. To say I balled for like an hour after is an understatement. lol That was such a good visualization of how anxiety, depression, and guilt make you feel internally and how your inner dialogue can sound when you’re really deep in it.

You are right. You can't force someone to open up and be vulnerable, so just letting them know they can when they are ready can help them so much! Even if they don't in the end, it still makes the person feel even the slightest bit better... and gives them that option when things get worse.

Love to hear Philip Glass's music being used again, first in in it's debut in Koyaanisqatsi, then in Watchmen and now in Stranger Things. And the Mindflayer rules the upside down, Vecna is his 2nd in command. Season 5 will be t he last from what the duffer brothers stated

Hmm ..... if we're following the actual sort of power hierarchy of DnD, a mindflayer is a powerful being, but Vecna is a very ancient and powerful archlich, he could make a mindflayer LOSE their minds, probably enslave them. I wouldnt be surprised if its the same in the Upside Down, but I guess we'll see. There are probably a LOT of dangers in the Upside Down we havent seen. Vecna and Mindflayer seem to be the grand daddy's of them all, but if any furhter seasons come out, there might be more to reveal.

Season 3 will always be my favorite. But I loved the gang working together, Nancy and Robins dynamic, el's growth, will opening up, lucas attempting to rekindle their relationship and that whole levitating sequence got me feeling nostalgic

This season really stepped it up. It's now my second favorite after season 1. Love the Durham, NC shoutout in episode 2 because that's where I'm from and the Duffer brothers always include references to places here. 💕 I'm so proud of El for standing up herself lol. And yeah she didn't need to continue after that first hit. Hopefully Angela will learn and make changes in her life. Episodes 4 & 7 were the standouts in Volume 1 for sure. So good.

There's been many subtle references in other seasons too like street names, lakes/rivers, etc. The writers even said the characters are based on real people from Durham that they knew growing up.

I used to feel bad for Elle, she didn't belong with her kind or normal kids..They hate Elle cause she's different, they don't even know how but they know she is.
