Not REALLY...Hancock PROMISED "over the top", gave us a "family film". This film piggybacks on "over the top" to give us a "ROM COM". Kick Ass played it straight in an "over the top" costume. If you want REAL "over the top" from a superhero movie my friend, try "Super" or "Bright Burn"! Enjoy!

Imho, although far from perfect, comparing this to 2016's Ghostbusters, My Super Ex-Girlfriend is an Ivan Reitman hidden gem. Amazon or Netflix really needs to make a prequel/sequel miniseries/movie out of this and give it a Sky High/The Greatest American Hero vibe.
