What’s happening in this Event Horizon movie clip?
Miller (Laurence Fishburne) is attacked by a demonic Dr. Weir (Sam Neill). The latter starts by taking the form of Corrick, a subordinate Miller was forced to abandon to his death. However, Miller manages to keep his good sense and doesn't get destabilized by the apparition. In consequence, Dr. Weis takes his form back and we discover him naked, the body full of scars. He then grabs Miller and shows him the true nature of the hellish dimension through visions. Miller manages to fight back and an ultimate confrontation ensues.

What’s the movie Event Horizon about?
Its name: EVENT HORIZON. The high-tech, pioneering research spacecraft mysteriously vanished, without a trace, on its maiden voyage seven years earlier. But a weak, persistent signal from the long-missing craft prompts a rescue team, headed by the intrepid Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne), to wing its way through the galaxy on a bold rescue mission. Accompanying Miller is his elite crew and the lost ship's designer (Sam Neill) ; their mission is to find and salvage the state-of-the-art interstellar vehicle. However, once aboard the Event Horizon, the team discovers several ominous clues and starts to realize that the previous crew has known a very dark fate. Soon, supernatural events start to occur.

That was the shapeshifting demon entity that was haunting the Event Horizon; Weir was pulled out of the ship by an intense space vacuum and became a floating corpsicle in space-time, and without his eyes. Here, this demon takes Weir’s shape as a heavily distorted, and fugly figure of him. As if to insult him, after death.

The ship they were sent after, was Humanity’s first attempt… at creating a Warp Drive. (Collective gasp) Rogal Dorn: Wait father, didn’t you say this occurred Millenia BEFORE the Age of Strife? Emperor: I did. Vulcan: Then would that not mean the crew of this prototype ship had no knowledge of the Warp and its dangers? Emperor: that is correct my sons. (All 20 Primarchs share horrified looks) Ferrus Manus: What happened to Miller and his crew? Emperor: They found the ship, deserted but with some grim signs, and later discovered the horrors the previous crew had been subjected too, they attempted to flee with the intention to destroy the cursed ship… but the ship had been possessed, by one demon or many, I never found out, but it hardly mattered. Having no knowledge of the warp or it’s denizens, Miller and his crew had no defences, but were just as vulnerable as any other human living today. One by one, the possessed ship killed Miller’s crew, until only three remained, including Miller himself. (All 20 Primarchs sit in silence, riveted by the story) Emperor: Miller goes to the ship’s core, with the intent to destroy it, while he and the rest of his crew seek refuge in the bridge portion. They believed that without the core, whatever was possessing the ship would be destroyed, and rightly so. However, the demon fought back, Miller faced the demon in single combat inside the Ship’s core. Corvus Corax: what kind of demon, a Prince, a Lord? Emperor: (Shrugs) Never found out, suffice to say, it was more than a simple human could take on alone, but Miller persevered, refusing to surrender… and ultimately, gave his life to destroy the core. Jagatai: Honour to you brother Miller All: Honour to you Brother Miller Emperor: The report made by the survivors eventually led to the development of the Gellar Field, a pivotal piece of technology that might have been delayed if not for Miller’s sacrifice. That my sons, is bravery, it is to face down not only death, but pure evil in the face, and say to it… Not this Day, you do not win this day.

easily my favourite scene of Event Horizon (1997), I'd love to see a Prequel to Event Horizon, it would focus on the Original Crew of The Event Horizon and what really happened to them when the ship disappeared, there's a lot of unanswered Questions that the Prequel could answer, if The Thing (1982) can get a Prequel in 2011 (also called The Thing about The Norwegians) then why can't Event Horizon? some Questions The Prequel needs to answer?: 1. how long did it take for the Original Crew to realise that they didn't get to the other side of the Solar System but were in a Hell Dimension? 2. did any of the 18 Crew Members try and fight back against the shapeshifting demon entity that was haunting the Event Horizon? (I have a feeling Captain John Kilpack would be the closest thing to a Human Antagonist similar to Weir once Possessed) 3. did Dr. Weir change the ship's coordinates? is Weir a secret Satanic Worshipper? 4. what type of a Hell Dimension is it?

You know when the ship entered the gateway, what would've made it obvious they were heading to hell, is when the portal opened, fire and something coming through it as it went through the portal would've made it more scary and believable.
