Before we get mad at Karen, she may have entered rehab to avoid time in custody. A lot of jurisdictions require jail time for DUI’s, but they will accept in patient treatment as an alternative. Rehab might be a smart move. Karen would not survive in county jail. I had to edit this. YES to everyone saying it’s convenient, YES it is convenient and wise to stay out of jail after such a poor decision. Drinking & driving is a poor decision. Accepting the opportunity to avoid jail in her 60’s is wise.
