To be fair the primary reason that the "comeback" happened was that Bushy explicitly stopped going for majority because in the ladder tie-break, # of bingos takes priority over majority wins. If he'd gone for ancestor spirit and any other square it's GG at 1hr 30

@@justnachoday5811 my understanding is it's in the event of a 3-way (or more) tie with each beating one of the others. I.e. if A beats B and B beats C and C beat A then who progresses? Each have 1 win and 1 loss.

I wonder if the format would feel less brutal on board errors if a mistake like Bri's resulted in full progress lost on the square, rather than totally losing the ability to do it. Blocking the player out in a game like Bingo is very warping of the format and a bit unpleasant to experience as a viewer, as it guts the tension, feels like time watching was wasted, and has that uncomfortable feeling of adjudication overreach. Like even in mtg, a number of player errors are resolved by rolling back the gamestate, not issuing a game loss or in-game penalty. It feels strange to issue a potentially game-swinging in-game mid-match hard-block *handicap* as a judge ruling - doing it this way has the same feeling as issuing 10 damage to someone in mtg for a missed trigger, or force deleting a few buildings/workers in an rts. I don't think sports admin should really take steps like that as much as is possible. At least resetting progress on the square has the same self-block effect, but doesn't result in this odd handicap situation that warps the match completely. There needs to be a penalty, and yes she could have used the counter provided to prevent it, but I still really don't think that it needs to be as devastating as the current penalty. (Note: yes it didn't matter as much in this game by the end to Bri, though it probably snatched the win but hard to say, but it did shape Bushy's decision-making knowing he had an unblockable bingo that could never be the case in a normal game if no penalty occurred, so arguably the ruling baited him. Regardless, unless someone is cheating I don't think judge rulings should risk being what decides a match in such a binary way. In football, subbing a player out can be bad or good, but it's a good penalty because it *changes* the game state, it doesn't make the game *revolve* around the change or guaranteed penalise one side. In this case at least, and for many other squares, resetting progress still makes the square possible, even if the time loss can still be significant.) As an alternative, maybe since there is a timer now you could issue a time loss but allow the game to proceed (at least for a miscount or whatever)? So each error shaves off 15 minutes from the timer or something? Not sure.

A full reset could be a reasonable enough penalty, although for many squares it might be functionally the same due to the remaining options being so unreasonable or non-existent.

Aggy did grab it against Domo in a practice match before the season started for a win (Domo making the fivehead play to ignore it because obviously it was a timesink, before losing XD), but yeah, I don't think I've seen it in a season match.

matches like this are kinda why I feel like there should be overtime in place, like a "sudden death" first to the next square wins, or something. Just feels weird that he was basically 3 minutes away from winning and it's still a tie.

He died too many times and didnt manage his time properly. Thats just like saying "oh 1 more goal and we would of won" in sports overtime is only given when game time is taken away by injuries or penalties. Its not just given out to find a winner unless its a semi final or final match. Theres a time limit for a reason

@@fishnutz5196 the limit is extremely arbitrary, given that the events don't even start on time in the first place. And in this specific instance, the victory was quite literally assured. She literally COULD NOT win the game. All bingo options were blocked out to her, and by the rules could not block the bingo. I'm sorry, but the reason really doesn't make much sense.

If theyre going to do a sudden death, they should randomise the board again, stick em back at the first grace outside the beginning in limgrave and then they have to rush the middle square, then it's fair
