Was rooting for Monkey Ballers this season! They looked so solid during pool play. Seems like poor decision making and bad execution hurt this match-up forsure. Didn't help that Cata got like 6 squares In match 1, by himself, within like 20 minutes lmao. GG to both teams. Hoping to see MB come back strong next season!! Edit: not contesting the bingo lines in either game, was probably the biggest mistake. An odd decision in my opinion because each bingo had snipable squares, like 2 duelist for example. Gotta give team Cattery their props though, they delivered and executed their game plan extremely well!

The problem with trying to snipe the next fastest square in a 2v2 format is that by the time one of the players gets the 3rd square on a line, which is usually when a bingo becomes a real threat that needs to be immediately addressed, the other player on the team is already making significant progress towards the 4th square. In that Duelist example in game 2, by the time Cata marked Remembrance Hitless Pup was already done with 1 Duelist and was about to fight the second. MB trying to contest Duelist at that point was futile and they knew that. Now, there is a chance MB could have forseen the column 1 earlier when Pup marked Tunnels. However, if they immediately tried to contest Duelist, Aggy and CBD would both be behind since CBD needed to Memory of Grace then run out of his Tunnel to teleport while Aggy was in combat with Deathbird so he would have had to quit out as well, while Pup could just teleport immediately. Obviously contesting Remembrance Hitless was not an option either since Cata showed he did Margit a minute ago. That's why Aggy set up Rykard's Great Rune by showing that he took Rya's hand to Volcano Manor, thus technically having a 30-ish second lead to Rykard. However, a 30-second lead for such a long and tedious square is insignificant so Cata decided to challenge it, especially since he had the resources to set up a much stronger weapon thanks to all the killing.

I mean.. they did contest the squares, but Monkey Ballers just was a bit unlucky on the contested squares. I believe they didn't snipe them a single time while Cattery got very strong snipes. The boards were also very weird where it's hard to contest the lines once you're just a little behind.

@@DyvelJohnny you make a good point, maybe duelist square wasn't a great example lol. All I was saying is I think it's odd they allowed a bingo in each game, without much contention, while they worked on slower squares. But, they were always a late game team so it makes sense the way they played. But team caterry didn't let the match get into the late game stage, so that seemed to be the biggest thing I noticed. They(MB) seemed content to give up the earlier squares and lean towards a late game approach. It worked pretty well all season tbf. But I don't think the boards this matchup fit well with that approach in hindsight after watching it all play out.

Sad for Team MonkeyBallers, they played a great season and got steamrolled here. The two boards were not too interesting and didn't play into their strenghs. That said, Cattery being this strong is really exciting for the finale. Both former champions made it, that's a lot of hype!

Eggy crumbling under pressure is already classic, but it was quite surprising that CBD did underperformed as well. But all that aside - team Cattery played amazingly and really deserve their spot in the finals.

No favoritism happening though? Obviously she has a deeper insight into what team MonkeyBallers is doing so she mentioned more of that. Also, commentators kind of need to hype up the team that's behind, saying how they could catch up. That's what all good commentators do, otherwise they'd have nothing to talk about. tl;dr: Just because you're biased because someones' girlfriend is casting, that doesn't give you the right to insult other people.
