This is not normal. When a animal is screaming like that they need something. The fact that she gets exhausted from screaming doesn’t mean that is her normal sleeping habit. The fact that they have to shave her tail from biting it should tell the owners that Belle is susceptible to stress. And laughing and agitating her while she screams isn’t going to help. I would be more inclined to think this is normal if other otters do this, but on the other otter channels including Bingo himself don’t do this. So both owners need to address the situation instead of letting it play out, or this could have significant affects on Belle’s health.

Zack hartman Sakura has a buddy with Mochi the cat. She doesn’t make those whining sounds too often. But there is something else happening with Belle. She used to bury her face in her crotch and scream, and she has the tail thing, and now she’s doing the screaming thing. Something is stressing her out. And it doesn’t look healthy.

@@TheCloveart Sakura made the same noises in her early vids. What I'm saying us the otter is bored or is feeling left out. Otters run in groups usually, so this little guy might be yelling for attention Plus, is the otter was in real trouble, it would scream at a volume that would blow the audio out. They can scream loud enough to be hear for about a mile. This little water bread is fine.

Zack hartman Like i said Sakura has a cat buddy now. And she made those sounds when she was the only pet. She seems way happier now that the cat is a round. And you pretty much just ignored the crotch gnawing and tail shaving. The vets wouldn’t shave her tail if there wasn’t an issue. And the scream volume isn’t the issue, there is a lesser known otter on Instagram that died from being a lone pet and another that is obese. Just because the otters aren’t using their super sonic screams, doesn’t mean there isn’t something wrong.

I finally get it. Somewhere deep in her psyche from when she was itty-bitty (long before she came to live with Bingo) she was afraid she would be left behind when she fell asleep. Her quite spectacular solution was to make a loud fuss & cling to someone to ensure they would be there when she awoke. What a remarkable (and ear-splitting) girl!
