For this question specifically, since it asks for 12 or more, you can use binomcdf and put the x value as 11. When you get that answer now, you will do 1 minus that answer and you will have the correct answer. The reason this works is because you know that in binomial distribution there are only 2 outcomes, so If we find out the probability of getting from 1 to 11, then the only other outcome is from 12 - 20. This is why 1 - binomcdf(20,3/5, 11) gives you the correct answer.

@@klaeparchment2938if the question asked to find the probability of more than 12 reds, would the x-value be 12 and then you subtract that answer from 1?

@@parmesancheese5475 If the question asked for 12 or more reds we know that it would be x>12. Knowing that, we can say that getting any value from 1-12 would be considered a failure. Thus, yes, we would use 12 as the x value for binomcdf and then subtract that answer from 1 to get P(x>12).
