Saturated divers in Offshore Iran. While the inspection is easy, getting to the job takes some serious hardware and dedicated personnel. But the perks are worth it.

American, Aussie, Indian, Canadian, all badasses once you reach the point of being a sat diver, you are in the club. I was a commercial diver for 25 years and never made it to their level and I respect them more than most because I understand what they actually do. God bless you guys, only astronauts can be compared to what you do.

Honestly crazy that the camera could withstand that much pressure
@binoyrod1280
@binoyrod1280 4 жыл бұрын
I was using a Gopro. which is rated for 40m, so to take it to 70meters, which was our seabed depth, I pressurised it without taking a seal, in the chamber, so effectively making the 50m pressure in our chamber ambient pressure for the camera, so then I could use it on the bottom, as it would only be 20m effectively, or 3 bars of pressure.

Hi, I'm 29, and don't know what I want to do with my life, I'm not satisfied right now. I like danger, and working with my hands. (I'm smart but also have ADD). Last two months I really started thinking about commercial diving like SAT diving etc. Now the last few weeks I'm pretty positive I want to go in this direction. I don't have diving experience whatsoever. I have found a divers training here in Holland (where I live), one in Norway, and some others. The one in Hollands is more expensive, but maybe also better? Do you have any tips for me? Ofcourse my condition has to be good I suppose. What was your path in becoming a commercial diver?

I have been diving for over 20 years in many different areas, IMO civil and sat divers are at the most risk. Sat for obvious reasons in this video and civil because in most cases zero viz with heavy equipment on the hard makes navigation on the bottom challenging for the divers. As in anything in diving communication with a sharp DPIC running the prime and subs is critical. As the saying goes “give the diver whatever he asks for except death”, stay safe men and stay alert, stay alive!

@AlejandroParis
@AlejandroParis 3 жыл бұрын
They are breathing Heliox, a mix of Oxigen and Helium, mainly Helium. It is done this way because when they are exposed to high pressures, higher amounts of the gasses they breath dilute into their blood and tissues. If they were breathing air, the Nitrogen (78% aprox) would cause them nitrogen narcosis (they would get kinda high and they could "overdose", in a nutshell). Instead, air is replaced by Heliox, which is less dangerous for them... and gives them funny voices as well due to its lower density

Air pressure with no where for it to go. If you take goggles when you're swimming or a bottle turn it so the bottom stays perpendicular to the bottom (goggles use the side you put your face into) and fully submerge it. It won't fill up with water because the air is trapped forcing the water to stay out
