The mobile bridge of Bizerte is a Tunisian mobile bridge built between 1978 and 1980 (inaugurated in June 1980) in Bizerte and responsible for ensuring traffic between the two banks of the canal crossing the city. It rises three times a day to allow the passage of ships to and from Lake Bizerte.
Bizerte or Bizerta (Arabic: بنزرت, romanized: Binzart Tunisian pronunciation: [bɪnzɑrt] Italian: Biserta, French: Bizérte) the classical Hippo, is a town of Bizerte Governorate in Tunisia. It is the northernmost city in Africa, located 65 km (40mil) north of the capital Tunis. It is one of the oldest known settlements in Tunisia, having been founded by settlers from the Phoenician port of Sidon around 1100 BC. Although archaeologists have established that no Phoenician settlements in the West Mediterranean date to before the 9th century bc. It is also known as the last town to remain under French control after the rest of the country won its independence from France. The city had 142,966 inhabitants in 2014.

Qu'a-t-on fait de cette ville, qui etait jadis un bijeau, une coquette ville dans les années 60, aujourd'hui les constructions anarchiques ont envahis la ville, des batiments sales souvent inachevés ceux qui existaient déja menacent de tomber, fissurés n'ont jamais été restaurés ni entretenus, les trottoirs défoncés, une circulation cahotique, abscence partielle ou totale de signalisation horizontale et verticale, une nouvelle marina à l'abondant, on est même pas fichu terminer un aussi beau projet, des plages de Sidi Salem et de la corniche ne ressemblent plus a rien, la laideur est partout a tous les niveaux et cela est valable pour Menzel bourguiba et presque tout le pays est en lambeaux, a part quelques endroits touristiques pour ainsi dire qui echappent au dessastre un tantinet heureusement que les romains nous ont laissé quelques ruines même cela n'ont pas echapés a c e desastre, la plupart des grandes mosquées comme la mosquée de Zitouna ou celle de Kairouan, ont été construites par des pierres et des colonnes prélevées dans les ruines de Carthage ou de Dougga ou encore d'El Jem, si vous visitez la grande mosquée de Kairouan, vous allez constater qu'aucune colonne au chapiteau a l'interieur ne se ressemblent ils n'ont même pas la même taille ni la même couleur, rafistollés n'importe comment on n'est même pas capable d'égaler les chef d'oeuvres de l'architecture Romaine qui nous a laissé un patrimoine inestimable.
