People easily forget we are talking about the 90's. Windows was just a graphic shell for DOS, and most of the gaming computers had just a VGA card with a Trident chip and very few and slow RAM. VGA mode 13h was almost mandatory. Also, CPUs were slow. Like, _really slow_ . And on top on that you couldn't even assume the machine had a sound card or a mouse (those were considered "superfluous" for standard PCs - remember, Windows wasn't mainstream, the almighty DOS still roamed the Earth).

I still remember being disappointed when I found my character's identity. But I remember reading that it's actually dependent on your conduct in the game. My identity ended up being this old looking guy whose bio said "Subject displayed an extreme lack of gratitude." This may be because after a guard turned on the gun turret for me, I beat him to death anyway. I also killed Dane by bashing his head in, only finding out later that you could simply remove his battery. Overall, I was obsessed with this game for a short time, I even had Bioforge action figures! Kill the guy that guarded the main gun? Those and more apparently dictated who you actually wound up being. Like I said, assuming I'm remembering correctly.

I did actually buy and complete this one back in the day, though afair had to use a guide for some puzzles. Afair the biggest issue weren't even the controls but how slow it ran on average PCs. Thanks for taking the time to comment! The outro music is actually from KZbin's music library they have for creators. I thought it had a cool vibe. The song is called Final Girl.

Visual style and story is quite good for the time but gameplay is not that much fun. The scene with frozen scorpion thing is still in my mind.

It's crazy how atmospheric and memorable that scene is when it's really just a still picture.

I didn't bother with this game back in the day because it just looked so damn janky to me. It still does.

I can't argue the jank, it's really cool but definitely not for everyone.

Does the game specifically say that it's a chicken leg? Cos it may be a turkey leg
@aquawalrus9 күн бұрын
It says it's "meat". I mean if I really reflect on it, there were a lot of people killed in the cyborg experiments. There is a solid chance it's human meat. I'm gonna choose to believe it's alien chicken.

Ug, the God awful Tank Controls coupled with Fixed Camera Angles that prevents me from playing the OG Resident Evil games rears it's ugly head again, lol.

I haven't played the original RE games in years, though I have to admit I'm curious to play them again now. After this they will feel smooth as butter I bet.

I hate to be that guy but Origin was not a top tier developer at this point, and they didn't make a 3d game that was not horrible insane jank and bugs from hell. Their reach very much was exceeding their grasp in a big way by 95. They kinda saved themselves with Ultima Online, but only for a short time.
