Sir I think you Don't know the real scenario: There were 4+2 Sabre while the other 2 sabres were for escorting purpose. Sekhon sir managed to crashed sabre 1. While he was chasing sabre 2, he was then followed up by sabre 3. the dogfight was happening and ultimately sabre 3 ran out of ammunition. He managed to hit sabre 2 as well while sabre 4 went back to Pakistan territory in the beginning itself. Ultimately at last the escorting Sabres hit 37 bullets on Sekhon sir's Gnat and he got martyred.

Sir sekhon did not follow the sop s and was shot down ..all sabres returned to base unharmed wherabouts of his wingman and sekhons body and wreckage of his gnat was not found till the end of war
