Some dialogue, or cutscenes/scripted events would make this near perfect. Just tweak some of the enemy health and ammo and this is beyond promising. The vibes of RE 4 and classic RE is there

If only they made games like this again. Superior graphics and sound are great, but nothing can replicate the uniqueness of these classic graphics, the echoey sound effects, the minimal draw distance, and slow, fixed camera gameplay

Indie devs are still making them, check out Alisa, Murder House, Back in 1995, Vaccine, Simulacrum, Conscript, Shadow Over Normoth, BioCrisis by Spina. And many more are still being worked on, there's a lot of demos out there, a lot of potential from indie devs.

Here's my "constructive ideas": + We might think about the Hex code that modify the color of the flame, by that you can put a blue flame object over, though I doubt there's such thing in source code + We can't have an identical shop for merchant, but there's a workaround, we can put several object in the, I call it "shop room", each object would require ptas, however, it's impossible to have an item valued more than 255, so the ptas should be harder to find. It include increase Leon's inventorys space, weapons... Some weapon may require treasure, instead of ptas to get. + I don't think grenade would work, maybe giving it a grenade stacks or something, because throw weapon is expected to delete itself from inventory after it's used up.

as you can see, the grenade didn't got deleted from the inventory, that's efective a contaniner of grenades, later in game you will find some powder to make your own grenades and store them on the grenades container, leon already has 10 spaces from the start of the game, wich are 4 more than when you start the original game, making a change with the merchant it's doable, im just keep investigating that a bit more, changing the color of the sprites it's doable too, but it will take around 2 hours just to put perfectly 2 flames and his proper sprites on the right place ( position and ofset code )

People be like: "Back when graphics didn't matter" The developers who put so much effort to create the best looking graphics available for the hardware of the era: "Am I a joke to you?" I'm not a fan of classical era of resident evil games EVEN THOUGH Resident evil 2 was the game that hooked me up in gaming ever since I was a wee lad (fortunately, nostalgia doesn't influence me that much) and I will always prefer the remake of 2 over OG 2 (despite it being my first ever resident evil game), I just don't like static camera angles. But with that out of the way, it's always interesting seeing demakes of new games. It helps showing how much you can strip away from a modern game to still be effective at delivering what it attempts to do and it sometimes improves it too! A horror-based resident evil 4 will always be more interesting to me than any sort of action oriented stuff (That said, I hope the remake does get rid of the island section and is more horror-oriented). I'd be more interested in this version of RE4 than the actual version out there. Good job with the mod!

si mi memoria no me falla después de tanto tiempo, existe un código hexadecimal en la habitación de fotografías de la RPD, allí puedes cambiar los rollos fotográficos por fotografías (duh), así que podrías intentar usarlo con el buhonero. aunque sería limitado, podrías cambiar los rollos (a los que tendrías que colocarles un nombre y Sprite distinto) por partes para las armas, más espacio o incluso munición (aunque siento que este último sería más complicado), y tendrían que ubicarse en lugares más discretos para que el jugador sea motivado a buscar por todos lados por esos rollos por lo demás, excelente mod, tiene una gran atmósfera de suspenso y solitud que te hacen preguntar qué más te encontrarás adelante
