The Importance of Harmonizing Public Data for More Efficient Analysis >3. The Challenges to Collaborate In my new role in a Data Coordination Center for a consortium project spanning several universities in different time zones all doing various versions of similar neurobiology experiments I will be working to harmonize metadata and encourage collaboration. Since I cannot directly sit down with the many many experimenters, which I do think would be the single most beneficial activity to help create the metadata architecture similar between the multiple labs I was wondering if you have any insights, suggestions, advice on achieving these aims -or seen resources out there that have helped other similar groups? The current plan is to just keep attempting to get feedback on my understanding of each lab's experiments via multiple repeat digital communications. Unfortunately labs already ignore these many requests, which I understand, as I can picture how they are all so busy, from finishing existing work to optimizing and perfecting the new work this consortium will undertake -so they sometimes cannot even reply with their plan since it is still in flux. I know many other consortium groups must have traversed these paths -getting consensus, structuring universal metadata as it pertains to the group. Do you know of any generalized resources about harmonizing metadata and fostering collaboration that you've seen most effective? Thank you for your great LinkedIn posts, videos, and other resources. They are very helpful for so many including myself!
