Wow! They did the same thing. 💙 When my mom met her biological paternal & maternal families, I discovered that my talent for writing & drawing & my military service, career in criminal justice/corrections/social work, was on both sides of the family. I love that he found his brother & that his wife is so supportive.

My brother took 42 years to find us. The day I met him, I knew he was ours. My Dad looked for years, and couldn't find him. His girlfriend then left the state when my Dad was in the Army back in 42. Married another man, and my Brother didn't find out until he was 8 that he was adopted by the man he thought was his father. I thank God he found us.

This reminds me of when I met my sister. My parents did something strange and that was they sent her to the Airport to pick me up and didn't tell me, that she would be coming. She was given up for adoption in the 60s. I got off the plane and walked straight up to her and said where is my mother and father, and who are you? She asked me how I recognised her. I told her it would be impossible to miss.

I’m Australian and one of 3 girls from my father’s first marriage, and have a younger brother from his second. My parents separated after one too many affairs by our dad when I was 5 1/2. I Ihad always been a daddy’s girl and it absolutely devastated me, for the rest of my life. I had my dna done last year and I got an email from the dna people saying that there was a close relationship either sibling or niece, and I knew we didn’t have a niece. I saw a picture of her and truly got such a shock, she looked like my youngest sister. It turns out that she was 3 months older than my little sister, so my father had 2 women pregnant at the same time, which is pretty disgraceful. But he never knew about her. She was placed in an orphanage from birth and he was never told. He was a crappy husband but a wonderful dad and if he had known would never have allowed that to happen. He would have arranged for someone in his family to adopt her so that he could be a part of her life, as he always was in ours. She missed meeting him by 8 months, he died in December 2022, never knowing. She was raised near where we live, she even knows an old boyfriend of mine and at one stage we lived in the same country town for 3 years. So many close calls but never met. My mum is still alive and has completely accepted her, as has mums family. She is our sister, so therefore family. She is Facebook friends with my mum, and my dad’s second wife, my brother’s mum (dad’s third marriage was to an awful narcissist). She is so happy to know who she is, something that I have always taken for granted. Her car now has personalised number plates with our surname on there. We get along extremely well and she comes to stay with us. She is a darling, but it is still weird to hear her say dad when it’s my dad. I so wish that she had had him in her life, but we have some videos of ads that he did for tv so that she can see and hear him speak, but she missed out on a lot of love from him, and that is so sad. It’s only been 9 months since we met but she is definitely my sister and I love her. ♥️

I am very touched by this meeting of brothers. Discovery of a relative with whom you share DNA is not a guarantee of an instantaneously loving unbreakable bond as this channel suggests. Addiction, opposing political, and religious belief systems can indeed negate the "blood" bond one would hope for. Meeting me bio-father and two half sisters from separate mothers was helpful in putting faces to the voids. My experience of meeting DNA relations did not result in happily ever after for us. Inflexible, judgemental and hateful attitudes of intolerance can indeed negate the entire notion that there is a truly intrinsic and enduring blood bond which supersedes all. I am not sad nor forever broken by the reality of my experience. I am strengthened by it, in fact. I wish everyone to know that by building a family-of-choice based on mutual respect one can still be blessed with the same level of joyfulness. Good luck boys. I wish for you the greatest of futures as brothers.

My spouse is adopted. She was reunited with her biological parents, full-blooded sister, and three half siblings in her father’s side about16 years ago. The half-siblings weren’t happy that their father had two daughters before them so they don’t speak and the father gave in to their demands to stop communication even though he was happy to meet his daughters. The bio mom turned out to be unstable. Her sister is the only one she has a relationship with. They aren’t as close as she would like them to be, but if either of them calls needing to chat, the other one always answers. You just never know how reunions will turn out.

I found a first cousin through ancestry. It was the family secret that Sonny Tenhunfeld made a married woman pregnant and abandoned them, marrying nine months after his first child was born. Ironically, she looks just like our grandmother and has the name Anne. Our grandmother was called Anna, short for Antoinette.

This made me teary. Im blessed to have two brothers and a sister. Yes we argue a lot when we were younger but as we grew older, we realized that having each other is what makes us a family. My 24 year old daughter and 11 year old daughter are half siblings but my eldest treated her younger sister whole as she says her sister is all she got. She even have her little sister name tattooed.

I'm about to turn 59. I was adopted as an infant. I grew up just fine, in a loving and caring home by wonderful adoptive parents. However, ever since I was told I was adopted, I have often wondered about who I really am and where I came from. I just recently did a DNA test on Ancestry and was able to contact my half-sister, who is the only daughter of our mother. I'm still trying to locate and lock down who my biological father is, and the latest information says I have 2 half-sisters on that side, but I have not been able to make contact yet. Unfortunately, the news from the people I have reached out to on both sides have told me that both my biological mother and father have passed, so I might never find out how I got my start in life. I'll still look, but I don't know if I'll be able to find out anything.

I have had similar experiences where I met my grandparents in a nursing home and my father's side that my mother told me we're dead when I was 17 years old. Further, I went to a church in Milwaukee Wisconsin as I recognize the last name is my name and asked if he could be related to me. I told him my father's name by then I knew who he was and the three children that he had with his third wife that I didn't know about till I was 17 or 18. I told him I was also a twin and his wife was very surprised saying I didn't know you had twin sisters. At that moment I was told that my father was this man's father and he was one of two sons that my father had from his first marriage. The reality is is I did not know my father until I went to the nursing home where I met his parents and that's when I found out that I had the three siblings. So ultimately I both my grandparents took care of them as well in the nursing home and I met my father three of his children and then I met the one brother at the church and the other unfortunately I did not meet until my father passed away.I went to a post office where my daughter's father was working as a mail carrier and there was someone there with the last name the same as mine and I asked if he could be related and I said my dad's name and he says I'm your dad's brother. I have continued to be amazed at the frequency that I've been able to meet people that turn out to be related or people that I've lost touch with that just show up somewhere and there they are. It's heartwarming to see relationships that do well when they meet up surprisingly, but my one sad response was that my brother that I met at church didn't want anything to do with my father and he didn't ever make amends with him after 30 years of a separation.
