very informative thank you. so the macrophages must be special ones that don't release cytokines? If the pericytes are sensors that contract to keep stuff out; does that mean that if my blood is full of "not good stuff" they will contract and allow less of everything (including oxygen) to the neurons? or are they more selective than that? Is that why "huffing paint" gets you high?

Is it the pericytes that perform phagocytosis, or is it both the pericyte AND macrophages?

Like the covid test !!!!
@stress255816 күн бұрын
No it cannot. You can go test it. The bbb is alot smaller and will not be damaged by jamming say, the leg of a table, up your nose and through the top of your head, although other brain tissue might get hurt, which in your case might actually make you smarter.

Anyone that studies the complexity of any of the sciences and believes that everything we obverse just happened by random mutation over billions of years, is wilfully ignorant (dumb on purpose).

You did excellent in explaining this. But I have to say your drawing of the neuron looks like a penis. No foul Dr. Mike, it was quite funny, but maybe draw it different. (You just draw more strands at the synapse)
