Join the Southern California Cancer Support Communities for a webinar that provides a high-level overview of the medical aspects of cancer, including cancer epidemiology, risk factors, prevention and screening, symptoms, and diagnosis, staging, and prognosis. The presentation will provide information concerning cancer surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and other systemic therapies. Cultural and diversity issues, survivorship, advanced disease/end-of-life care, and unique challenges of younger and older cancer patient populations will also be addressed.
About the presenter:
Dr. Wolcott is an emeritus attending, Department of Psychiatry, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He spent the last 26 years of his career leading the development of oncology supportive care services at Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Cancer Center and a total of 19 other outpatient hospital cancer centers throughout the US managed by Salick Health Care/Aptium Oncology. He has held leadership roles in the American Psychosocial Oncology Society, and has for many years been an actively involved supporter of the Cancer Support Community. He is past Co-Chair and current member, Board of Directors, CSC Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara.
