Great educational videos. Thank you. It seems that the commentary is via use of AI voice which may explain why Gantry is interchangeably pronounced and quite funny 😄

Hello, I hope you can help me.. I want to know if the patient protocol page and the dose report page are the same thing for a brain CT scan performed with Siemens Sensation 16 syngo CT2006G software. I only have the patient protocol page, which includes CTdivol and Total DLP total mAs values. Are these values given during the scan? Also, on this page, it says "base" instead of "head." There are only CTdivol and DLP values for the base, are "base" and "head" interchangeable terms in this context?

Can you address the amount of dangerous ionized radiation a patient is exposed to during a typical CT scan?

@@BiomedicalEngineersTV Thanks in advance. I know that CT’s help in diagnostics, but the scan itself may be dangerous to the body.

We had discussed with Siemens and Philips engineer about this subject, they answered this machines are designed to deliver low does x rays for different diagnosis with specific time period

@@BiomedicalEngineersTV Low dose? That sounds good. But there is no amount of ionized radiation that is safe, as I understand it. So, it comes down to is the information revealed by a scan worth the amount of radiation a patient is exposed to, correct? With all due respect, Siemens and Philips sell CT scanners. If patients are concerned about radiation exposure, they may ask their doctor for an MRI and sound scan instead of a CT scan. So it makes sense for Siemens and Philips to use a term like low dose x rays to minimize concerns.

It's not a routine procedure the scan is performed only once, so it's not harmful in any kind. If a patient goes like every day for the procedure then its harmful
