@jasongoldman3850 yes! The Six Million Dollar Man was what started both series. Steve Austin(Lee Majors) played the astronaut that was in a fatal crash and was rebuilt with bionic limbs. Jaime Sommers was his girlfriend in the series.

They tried with a tv reboot but it fell victim to a writer’s strike on NBC and was cancelled after just a few episodes. It didn’t have the same authentic quality though of the original series.

I had a Bionic Woman lunchbox when I was in grade school. The METAL kind of lunchbox, not those cheap plastic ones! Lol! I carried that lunchbox until it was too rusted, and the lid broke off! My mom tried to replace it with a plastic Cabbage Patch Kids lunchbox, and I just wasn't having that! Lol!

They tried to remake the Bionic Woman before and it failed. BW, like many other popular shows, was "lightning in a bottle" and I just don't believe today's filmmakers would do it justice.

I remember Wagner talking about how she always wanted Jamie using her strength defensively only - pushing people instead of hitting them, etc. She was a bit unhappy with how dark and violent the remake was.

Lindsay Wagner is a great actress. I liked her very much on the bionic woman. She also has a way to make a little comedy in the show, for example in the episode Doomsday is Tomorrow when she tries to make the recipe on tv and can barely keep it with her bionic speed. When the program is interrupted by the scientist, she throws the potato peeler in despair in the air and she's making a face as if to say now what! Funny scene.😊

That was hilarious- some good bionic skidding there (especially when he goes out of control and knocks a security guard at the door on the way in).

I enjoyed both the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman. I have both on DVD. Only thing as I do feel the writers were running out of stories. Many of the stories were from The Six Million Dollar Man, just insert Jamie. Example The plane crash and Oscar is missing episodes

They have a stunt woman stand at the top of the cliff’s edge and jump off backwards and land in an airbag below the cliff. Then they show the film in reverse so it looks like she’s jumping upward. I have a bonus dvd from the Six Million Dollar Man collection that has “Secrets of Bionic Stunts” this was one of the stunts explained.

Why can,t they do this in real life? Understand there are different types and styles of bionics, though what about synthetic skin covering over endo arm or whatever limb is so hard to understand ?
