Basically Red figured out he could use the Lucky Block Staff like a command block, and choose what it spawns, but that goes against the nature of Lucky Blocks, so the core adapted/became sentient/defended itself

no in the prev animations it was already evil and sentient and nothing went against the nature of the lucky block because what Red turned blocks into was still random, just that there was no more need for a lucky block, which is why the cubes connected to the staff were hypercharged

So, basically: Orange guy with donut head = The Second Coming or TSC U need to watch from the Original to ep 32 in order to understand the series.
