9:10 actually this is one of the best ways to get someone to confess. Appeal to their base, animal instincts, act like "hey, I'm a guy too, not just a cop, I agree with you, I've felt what you felt, you're safe to tell me what you did". It's horrible and it probably feels like hell having to say that, but you have to make them actually think you see where they're coming from and suddenly they feel like they have to brag about what they did.

Idk if anyone mentioned this to you in the chat bc I can’t see it well enough to read it, but just for the record even if a judge decides you’re too insane to stand trial or whatever, yeah you can get out of being executed, but you will still likely be imprisoned for life , & as someone whose been both through the prison system & in the hospital system(extended psych lockup) .. I’d rather go to prison. Especially if you’re not actually so insane tht you don’t know what’s going on around you.. psych lockup is so hellish tht it will break your brain and make you tht level of crazy.
@DKF_oli3 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify: like if you get deemed insane, you’re not going to get a shorter/lighter sentence time-wise and it’s definitely not going to be in any better of a place than a state or federal prison.

you're not mentionning it, but the interrogation was going for hours. the "switch" were probably not so "instant" or useless in a normal situation. the dude was just insanely good at "disconnecting" himself. just like you would stretch something back and forth until it break. not saying they're good, but it does the work.(maybe?)

What situation would this moron even need to come in and yell at a criminal unless the crime were in some way concealable such as murder? I don't think this detective is here to find the truth, I think he's here to justify his damn paycheck. Sounds like the case was already solved, and the detective's job is to try some shit that could make the job easier if it happens to work, despite none of it being needed. It's pretty damn clear this guy killed that girl.
@gabrielgreen17573 жыл бұрын
@@ursidae97 it makes it easier in court if A they can get a confession or B get a reasoning or motive. Motive can show a lot. Like without a motive you can plead insanity easier. Or with a motive crafted by the person in question it can become a lighter sentence if they show they're disconnected from themselves like they weren't regarding what they were doing with their own life. This is actually an important part of the investigation. Edit: in the video where they show what fake insanity is like. Although an insanity plea may not be believable by the jury. If they can show it's fake in interrogation. Or lock them down into a specific narrative. Then it leaves the guilty person with far fewer options to try and exploit it.

I think he looks creepy/fucked up because he was actually going to graduate (or had graduated) with a law degree or something to do with criminal defense, so I think he had an idea of police interrogations and how they psyche people out. I think he was psyching the cop out, even if by accident There’s also so many ways that they legally can get a confession. There was a case where the perp literally confessed but they didn’t do the Miranda Rights correctly so it was technically not legally binding. Then the perp changed position and said they didn’t do it. They just sit you down and break you via arguments and repetition until you come to the conclusion that you should confess. That’s why there are some slim number of cases of people confession when they didn’t do it, cuz it can literally drive you up the wall and can make people questioning their reality
