When you suffer severe trauma, you don't always feel pain, in my experience. I was runover by a car, calmly discussing with paramedics that my lower leg was destroyed, while they explained to me that it probably looks worse than it is, and I definitely wouldn't be calmly talking to them if it was. It was. I just remember trying to stand and watching my leg fold like it was a noodle, and thinking "well that's effing gross" and then tried pulling myself along the road like a legless zombie so traffic could continue (until someone stopped me and told me to stay put). There really wasn't any pain until about an hour later. Stubbing my toe literally hurts more...it's so weird.

I hope youre alright now, thats horrible
@BoxOKittens3 жыл бұрын
yeah adrenaline is amazing. I had a large hook go up my entire leg as a kid, cutting it open, and I was more angry about my ruined jeans than anything. The pain didn't set in until maybe half an hour later. The brain is one funny engine.
@AaronHendu3 жыл бұрын
@@barbararab6390 I'm alright now, for the most part. I'll never be "100%", but from what the surgeon said, I should be happy to walk normally ever again. Not only can I walk normally (most days), through remaining active, I've got a decent range of motion back, and I can balance on the toes of just my "weak" leg. I have a 5" scar on each side of my lower leg from where the surgeon went in, but other than that, you wouldn't know if you didn't have the comparison of knowing me before the "accident". It wasn't an accident, but I really don't want to get into that. I can still do most things...just...slower and more cautiously and nothing risky. I honestly don't know how my leg is OK...it was actually blue/purple/black from beneath the knee, everything, the tip of my toes...from internal bleeding? I don't really know. I got pictures after the cast was on and my toes looked dead sticking out the end of my cast. It all looks pretty normal now. It's been a couple years since it happened.

I feel safer with Uber. I think walking around outside after certain times is way more dangerous in most circumstances and if I feel unsafe then I'll call a friend and send them my location. Makes no sense. Cuz Modesto to Las Vegas is surely another 8-10 hour journey. Idk but it just always bothered me that she took a weird route back home

Really not vibing with the way the chat constantly called her dumb/naive and victim blamed in the entirety of the beginning of the story. No one realized that she was a 15 year old girl, in times where hitch hiking was normal?? Even in interviews she's mentioned how desperate she was to get home and how she lived to always regret her lack of judgement at that young age. Maybe we should spend more time being sympathetic and bashing the vile predators than screaming about the naive nature of a 15 year old girl back in the day.

The GPS sent the driver through the backwoods way.... mind you as well I work until midnight so it's dark asf out.
