Dude. If I had one piece of advice in my epitaph, it would be this: Do NOT hitchhike

I thought they would find out some or all of the hundreds of hitchhikers Nick said he picked up were other victims.

Unless the person picking you up is named Ford Prefect. But even then, make sure you have your towel, and still stay away from the Vogons. 😂 (God I hope someone gets this reference so I don't sound like a complete basketcase lmao!😂)

The absolute only not sus reason to delete messages regularly is if you have the worst storage imaginable

Seriously, who tf "routinely" deletes their messages and doesn't have something to hide. Even the most paranoid privacy/security oriented tech people I know don't do that.

You asked in this if the army provides mental health after deployment. The answer is: kind of. You go through a cursory medical and mental health evaluation upon return from deployment. Despite some press releases to the contrary, mental health is not taken seriously until it negatively affects mission readiness. All information related to mental health is self-reported, and the military as a whole suffers from conditions being underreported or marginalized. If a soldier isn't mission ready, it's always the fault of the soldier. Reporting medical conditions generally (and mental health issues specifically) are unofficially frowned upon. There is a fine line between reporting health issues and malingering. Most commands consider them one and the same except in cases of loss of "life, limb, or eyesight." If mental health problems get to that point, it's already a major issue. All this is to say the army has problems. These problems don't excuse violent or anti-social behavior by combat vets. They do, however, provide one of many possible reasons for those behaviors.

That's just awful. I but sadly not surprising. Typically, things like mental health is heavily found upon in environments where you're asked to be tough and ready.

She got 15 years? It seems like she would have had to have more to do than what was showed. I dunno, man. If she actually wasn't involved and just too scared to go to the police then I feel bad for her, BUT if that isn't the case then good for them for locking her up.

I remember as a kid being astounded by like everyone's stupidity in being fooled that Hannah Montana was actually Miley Cyrus because I watched the show as a kid she had an entire movie about her revealing her identity and yet these hardcore fans that went there with their kids and everything are all shocked at the betrayal that they felt that they were lied to that that's not actually Hannah Montana and that that's a fictitious character like that totally didn't sound like a fictitious character already, turn around and have her spiral because she feels so alienated from her previous audience that she went into a depressing drug spiral and came out as provocative as she did

No, they don’t let veterans smoke weed, that’s what that commentor meant in the chat. It has nothing to do with needing your reflexes up, it’s because marijuana isn’t federally legal and the VA also doesn’t actually care about their vets

I mean, yes they don't entirely care but the military last I checked provides free therapy to whoever has joined, ans their families. Last I checked. Considering my father was military and is currently an officer (which police/city provides therapy for free for police officers as well from what I understand) If not free, it is discounted by the types of insurances you can get. I just thought I'd answer that question as that question stuck out to me. Often times it is underreported and i beleive its only accessed when theres a direct affect. But this story is truly wild. Even with therapy, i think hed still do it. Many times the military attracts both good people and bad people for the same reasons to a degree. But some people with horrible desires, go into military service to live out those desires "lawfully"

Most people don’t want to hitchhike. Usually it’s a crazy long walk and they can’t get a ride. Usually around small states without public affordable transportation
