This fight is for me the most beautiful, the elegance of Marluxia with the petals next to his concept of death that he carries, in addition to all the visual effects being extremely refined. This fight is just incredible. One of my favorite fights in the series- mechanically interesting and fun, some of the coolest effects in the game, and a worthy remix of one of the greatest final boss tracks of all time.

I really prefer these relatively simple but technical battles over stuff like Dark Riku, where he slashes his sword once and creates 50 energy explosions, 70 darkness mines, and 100 bursts of unblockable lightning spread out over the next five minutes.

On the subject of what Marluxia says to Sora when he casts doom, I like to imagine he's actually saying something like "You're already too late..." or "You're already dead," cause when you think about it, he is literally casting an effect on you that guarantees your death unless you find some way to dispel it, which in the case of our own enemies in bbs and other FF games when you cast doom on then, is impossible.

You know what would've been a nice little addition to the boss? Where if the countdown hits zero, rather than the usual Game Over sequence, a cutscene plays where Marluxia shouts "Your heart shall be judged!" and summons the Specter from Re:CoM, who then slices at Sora with her scythe. It would've been both a neat call back to Re:CoM and a nice little nod to Strelitzia, Marluxia, or rather, Lauriam's sister.
