Alternated between wonder, overwhelmed despondency, and excitement watching this tutorial. What a masterpiece of a game.

Years later, I'm watching this, impressed at the clarity of your explanation for a devilishly difficult game to learn, your excellent lively but calm delivery, and your insightful review bits. I hope you continue making videos at some point (preferably reviews)--you have what it takes to be a big board game KZbinr in my opinion!

This video was nothing short of miraculous just like the beginning of life. Thank you. 💙From Brisbane.

This is the absolute best run through of this game out there. The way you broke this down and avoided the unnecessary for vast portions really helped streamline this for me and get a few playthroughs finally ❤️

Wow, thank you for unpacking that for someone new to the series. Utterly fascinating theme and the education has appeal but definitely a brain-melter to get into.

This is my favourite game of the bios trilogy and I came here too brush up the rules for my next play. Thanks for the wonderful work, Michael. The mileage I get out of my bios trilogy is partly due to your videos!

I lost track of how many times "Here's where things get complicated!" A very very complicated game, but man does it look intriguing!
@bernardorippe70243 жыл бұрын
Well is not that complicated.... Too much moving pieces and process but if you keep track and get use to the protocol everything come into..... Life?

Great video, done at a good pace thank you. Just noticed one thing at 15:55 You say that the compensation for losing a biont due to mana death is to take a catalyst of the colour you choose - it's actually of the same colour as your biont. (Rule B4) Anyway look forward to seeing more videos of yours in the series - cheers!

First of all i need this :D Second: how cool is that if a macro steals biom from its parasyte it gets endo symbioted.

Hands down the best Bios Genesis tutorial! Thank you for taking the effort to create such a good and clear video about it.

So helpful! This game is one of the only ones to sit on my shelf, unplayed, due to the challenge of the rulebook. I -think- this explanation has helped crack it - will give it its first play tomorrow. Many thanks!

I came across your video when, after receding Bios Mesofauna, I decided to see if there were any new videos attempting to explain this very interesting but oh so complex game I have yet to bring to the table. I’m very happy I did so, as your video does an amazing job at illustrating how this game works. After watching it I feel I will be able to tackle it again and actually play it. Thank you so much for doing such a great job. I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future.

Great job. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I agree, the theme and simulation aspects are more forward than play balance. (and I love the footnote editorials in the rule book as a bonus!)

Fantastic how to play video. I've been reading the rulebook and watched a playthrough but this helped to solidify some of the late game content that was still fuzzy. Thank you for the great content.

Honestly, recording the vid helped me solidify some things too! Hahah! Glad it was useful!

This game gets more difficult to understand as things get accomplished. Finding a good tutorial which isn't just someone playing the game, was impossible. I get confused once a macro organism exists with it being plant, herbivore, carnivore. Any tips playing this with others who feel the need to parasite every opportunity they get?
@BitsOfBoard3 жыл бұрын
Not sure how I missed this one, apologies! For parasite users I find the best defence is a good offence - get your parasites out there as well! It may not be how you want to play, but it helps... that and Red Queens, but they can be hard to come by... Hope you've been having fun with the game ☺️
@Kindlesmith703 жыл бұрын
@@BitsOfBoard It's a bit of a hit and miss game for me. There's fun to be had, for sure. It's also nuisance by so much randomness you can't really brain your way through. It is far easier to annihilate organisms than to create them (or have them survive long enough to evolve). I prefer Biogeneis: Megafauna as this one has a decent level of brainwork behind it, yet still being random. Although in that game the plants are very easily denied by the other players. Temperature also never seems to get into the cold zones so I feel those event cards are a bit of a waste.

Great video on a complex game, thanks for the explanation... I'm currently deciding between this and possibly Megafauna. Oh decisions, decisions.

This game looks fascinating! Although quite heavy on the mechanics and science I imagine! Can this game be played solo? If so, how would it work? Any case, good to catch up on video, it's been far too long! Just saw this upload into my youtube feed and gave it a watch! :D
@egoDEATH335 жыл бұрын
There are solo rules, where AIs are created. But even solo many people play with all four player colours. Once you know the rules it's not so difficult to do that, and perhaps more likely you'll create lasting darwinian life!
@BitsOfBoard5 жыл бұрын
Long time no see Andrew, hope you're doing well! 😀 Yup, solo for this game is unreal and is almost exclusively how I play it... mainly cos no one else is into the theme, hahah!

Don't worry, the rulebook itself had to withstand a number of reading to bring this to you 😂 this game needs way more than a single pass!
