Infinite constantly gets shit on these days, but it's still one of my favorite games. Absolutely loved the characters.

I know, right? Ken Levine must have been a huddled wreck rocking back and forth in a corner when it emerged that "power corrupts" and "violence only begets more violence" were too spicy a set of takes for the games journalists of the time. Although it could never live up to the possibilities of that first reveal, the setting is incredible and the whole arc about the illusion of choice in the face of grim, crushing fatalism in such a linear game is beautifully tongue in cheek given all the criticism of the original binary good boy bad boy system of 1 and 2.

I'll always remember Infinite in a good light, because it's the first Bioshock I beat.

Playing with the idea how to reach and use multiple dimensions, the world, plot, characters, loved it all. I have played the original Bioshock through and liked it a lot (especially the weapons, the crossbow was my favorite!), but Infinite felt much more refined. Sure Infinite has some issues, but overall I don't see why it got so much shit. Maybe people just didn't understand it :(

Honestly I was happy Bioshock moved away from Rapture, but I kinda wish Infinite had more non linear feeling exploration like the previous games. You really only get that in the beginning. The dlc though was interesting. Was nice to finally see Rapture in working order...then throwing that out the window and going back to RAPTURE

The combat may be a bit simpler in this game compared to the previous 2, but I still enjoy it when playing Clash in the Clouds. Didn't know Handymen were weak to crows, though.

Great run! Really wondering what his movement key bindings are, noticed 'W' is the interact button, don't see that often.
@Jamacanbacn4 жыл бұрын
He uses ESDF. Not for anything specific to the run just his keyboard bind preference
@daniellewasdelayed89214 жыл бұрын
Having your movement keys on ESDF gives you a lot more peripheral keys to use. Only key left of WASD would be Q, whereas ESDF gives QWAZ. Helps a lot with games like the new Doom where you can have each individual weapon directly next to movement instead of using scroll wheel or stretching for the number keys, alongside just giving you more flexibility for messing around with binds.

It really doesn't make sense that she kills him at the end - she's basically undoing her own creation. Seems kind of counterproductive to going to Paris and such.

Its a lot more understandable when you look into it. Booker was part of Wounded Knee which saw the slaughter of a bunch of native americans by the US army in 1890. Feeling extremely guilty to the point of insanity, he wanted to repent so he took the baptism and decided to be reborn as a new man, aka Comstock. He wanted to separate himself. The Lutece twins who he ended up working with created the machine that allowed travel between timelines. This is where Booker comes in. Booker in the timelines where he didnt accept the baptism went on to have a child, Anna, hence the AD on his hand. It's her initials. Anna's mother died during child birth. So mixing the guilt of Wounded Knee and the pain of his wife dying, he turned to alcoholism and gambling addiction and blew all of his money. Now Comstock wanted a heir to take over Columbia, so he decided who else but his technical daughter. The Lutece twins and Comstock offered to pay for all of the debt Booker accumulated from the gambling in exchange for Anna. Hence the phrase "bring us the girl, wipe away the debt." Booker obliges, but changes his mind last second, and went after Comstock. Thats where the scene of Anna's finger getting cut off happens. Because Anna is in two different dimensions at once, she is able to create tears between them. To keep Anna from being able to freely create tears at will, he created the tower she lives in to be a sort of blocker for her powers, and also to not let her know about her true past. The Lutece twins learning that Comstock is a racist evil bastard go to Booker to get Anna back and stop him. Thats where the game begins. The reason you die at the end is because again, Booker is Comstock. He becomes Comstock after accepting the baptism. And even though Comstock dies, he exists elsewhere, so you have to stop Comstock from ever existing. Booker mentions smothering him in his crib. Comstock was born in that pond, so the Anna's drown Booker in the metaphorical crib that created him, stopping Comstock from ever existing.
