I love the way the developers tried to make it so that the player couldn't just use one vigor throughout the game (they thought using electro bolt and shotgun in original Bioshock took all the challenge out) yet now there's another alternative which is even better.

Yes, everything works EXACTLY the same in 1999 mode (you can interpret that as good or bad :p). And actually return to sender works BETTER the harder the difficulty because of the damage thrown back at the enemy. Charge also MELTS enemies exactly the same. Idk if it 1-shots turrets, but aside from that you're absolutely golden! Thanks for the question

Love the tips man thanks. Until now, I had no idea how the invincibility on carve worked, and I'm on comstock house in ky second play through. I thought it activated when you were moving, not while charging. That made charge my #1 vigor again. And the tips for RtS also helped. Good video.

Been spamming the Charge vigor as shown and it's effectively very respectable with all the appropriate melee gears. I wish I knew of its power when I played 1999 mode years ago but hey, what can you do? ☻

I have another trick for return to sender: Cast the Return to Sender on the designated area you want to put on, stay inside it. And congrats! You are absolutely invincible!

Clothes are random, and restarting a checkpoint also resets what will be in Gear boxes when you stumble upon them. It may be cheap, but I found you can "farm" up to two near the start: at the Arcade in Battleship Bay, there are two gift boxes before you enter the actual arcade area. If you're extremely patient or lucky, you could get two crucial Gears at once. Otherwise, you at least double your chances early on of getting a desirable one, like Blood to Salts. return to sender is also very useful to take out snipers if you dont have a sniper just use the shield, zap'em and then use your imagination f.e. pull them to you and then set them on fire (with a direct hit does A LOT of damage) or use bucking bronco or charge this is one of the things that I live about this game! there are so many possible vigor combinations!!!

i believe the prices you quoted back in 2013 no longer apply as i've been playing this for a few days and 'Charge Aid' cos at least 1100 [more like 1200]. in fact, i have topped up all my Vigors and not a single Vigor hasn't had one ability that hasn't cost well over 1000 eagles. now, i know Irrational have changed Bioshock:Inf several times since its release but it's been one of those "make a decision between Guns or Vigors". i have only fully upgraded 3 guns [2 of which-Sniper & Shotgun dmg- i got with a DLC] as the cost of Vigor Upgrades is so expensive i have to settle on a decision to use only 3 weapons - ie, Handcannon, Shotgun and Sniper=24 ammo each, max.. not good but, since the handcannon and sniper are often one shot kills they do pay off. sort of... the shotgun WITH THE 20% SPREAD BOOST is a no-brainer as, when you miss w the other 2 guns , you miss..period... ammo WASTED and good luck finding handcannon/sniper ammo early to mid-game! but the 20% Shotgun Spread can kill even if you miss, the best weapon for when enemies are Bronco'd as you can kill 3 or more with just 2 shots. i wasted a LOT of cash buying Sniper/Handcannon ammo when i should've just upgraded the Shotgun early instead. wait.. i did! but the range is atrocious! but - and this is the REAL PISSER - the shotgun is great for Charging in then mowing down others.. only problem? YOU DON'T FUCKING GET 'CHARGE' UNTIL THE GAME IS, OH, I'D SAY - 80% COMPLETE!! as for the Vox guns? much as i LOVED the Vox Burstgun, by the time they were available [game at least 70% thru?] i knew i would need cash for Charge and Undertow and the horribly expensive upgrades so Vox guns? forget it. 7-800 eagles for gun upgrades?WHAAAT? 770 eagles just to make a Vox Burstgun have a larger clip? every gun has between 1 or 2 600-800 eagle cost upgrades, which puts the Vigors on the backburner as there's NO WAY you can upgrade more than 2-3 guns AND have the Vigor upgrades you want BECAUSE ON YOUR FIRST PLAYTHRU YOU DON'T KNOW WTF 'UNDERTOW' EVEN DOES! i have had Undertow for ages and i still don't know how to use it. i got massacred by rockets and a Handyman after the lift got hit in Emporia 'start' and spent 15 mins running away when, if i knew it, i could have Undertowed those rockets/snipers into bright blue sky [as it was i used Tear Mosquitoes to shoot them & 'skyline attacked' one guy as i was running my ass away in pure terror from a Handyman who was frying my ass w shock for 'being on his roof'[ie, 'roof' being 'skyline'].. i tried waiting for him but he would suddenly appear behind me - well, i would be thrown across the map as i waited to Bronco his fat arse - which doesn't work w him apparently- and hear his heavy boots slam me into limbo and Elizabeth bring me back to life ONCE AGAIN! horrible horrible horrible start to a new level]. Spoiler alert[ like you don't all know this anyway, right?] - Comstock IS Booker, right?[Comstock has Native American Indian blood in him, Booker can speak Sioux, he also was called the 'white injun' by his army buds for his over eager murder of 'injun' squaws and kids & Comstock hated when, as a young man in the army, his Sgt insulted him as having a 'little tepee' in his blood in front of the rest of the soldiers-this also explains his maniacal racism]; Comstock's body is obviously riddled with tumours and diseases of all sorts because of his existence in a dimension he was not born in. in fact, Slate's anger at Comstock for not being involved in the actual fighting at Peking and Wounded Knee may be because Comstock WAS at those battles but in his original dimension.. but i doubt Slate would believe that. AD stands for Anna DeWitt-poss Elizabeth but somehow Lutece helped Comstock 'Booker' to steal Anna De Witt from Booker, which may explain her abilities, taken as she was from one dimension to another and kept isolated so as not to disrupt the present dimension. Constance Field has something to do with someone trying to con their way into Elizabeth's confidence? that name, "Constance Field"=constant quantum field, which is what Lutece created to have an object defy the physics of the known universe by creating a field in which an apple can just float-or simply 'not drop'; also, Rose Lutece doesn't have a twin. he is simply a Y-chromozone version of her = a man. from another dimension; Daisy Fitzroy did not kill Lady Comnstock [obviously]. it was Comstock himself. and in a segregated, ultra racist, right wing pre fascist 'state', it would be the simplest of things to have a black or non white blamed for anything a 'white' chose.. just like the good old USA up to 1970s, and, to some extent, today. i'm fishing here, of course, but, this game- rem i have just fought Lady Comstock's ghost- has me intrigued. i kinda wanna figure out wtf is going on before i end it.

Honestly I don’t know how RTS was never talked about. I mean charge in theory sounds horrible, then when upgraded it becomes the best vigor in the game, so it’s understandable that it went unnoticed for awhile. But RTS sounds great on paper, works great in practice, is amazing before upgrades, and becomes even better after upgrades. I’m guessing no one just thought to hold he shield up because it’s standard usage isn’t that great. But you can literally look at any ranged enemy in the game except mechanized patriots, block a few attacks, and then one shot them when you stop blocking. You can even shoot while blocking so you literally use it as portable cover that you’re allowed to shoot through. You’re fighting a mechanized patriot plus 5 enemies? Use the shield to block ALL bullets while taking out the 5 enemies, then throw all that ammo at the patriot and nearly one shot it. It even blocks melee attacks so you can just sit there and face tank a handy man while spamming him with a shotgun, plus if you’re using any gear that damages enemies that melee you, it still procs while RTS is active. AND RTS traps act like cover, so if you want some long lasting cover in the middle of a room you can throw a trap there and stand behind it

ive been playing 1999 mode and i actually dont find any difference on difficulty from hard mode, but im assuming its from your vids they gave me the knowledge to use vigs properly like shock jockey + undertow /yummy :) thnx buddy...

@NovusIgnis no problem! And yeah invulnerability has a brown little aura around you when it's active and lasts for as long as a long charge would be. And in 1999 mode, RtS is a GODSEND. I actually found it EASIER than hard mode because they fed me more damage and i was able to throw for more @xSlimJimmx thanks :) im glad it wasn't too confusing. sometimes i get too involved :p @jaumell marshall super glad you subbed xD Need all the support I can get you know?

@Greel97 yeah near the end I just fully upgraded my crossbow & did shock + headshot. I really am glad though all the visors are almost equally helpful. There really is a vigor for any play style :) @Novuslgnis thanks :) & what doing you mean while moving? Like preparing the attack? It works as soon as you release the vigor button & start flying. The invincibility is that tan shiny aura you see on the screen
