I hate it, I felt i was on the verge. Was just trying to get groceries from Walmart. You can literally feel it boiling in your body so you try to avoid ppl. Got my groceries and the lady asked for my receipt which i forgot because my mind was racing. I did a pyscho march got my receipt, throw it at the lady and cussed her out. Got in the car and cried like a baby. Its horrible.

Very hard days to swallow - They make you mad and then so sad and I feel for you. Bipolar is not for the faint of heart - I feel for you. Maybe go back and say sorry and make it right - for them and for you or just do it better next time

I can relate 100 percent to this. Absolutely. If I feel this blood boiling episode rising in me , that is my cue to stay home. When I have to go out it's a nightmare. Traffic. People. Etc. I thought I was absolutely crazy and evil but when I come back to the " nice " me , I realized this is part of this horrific illness. Shame guilt and anger at myself for going postal out in public if one single thing ticks me off.

This is all so helpful. Three years ago I was diagnosed with Bipolar2. I have struggled all my life. I am 54 and recently pushed for a full hormone panel. The increase/decrease/change of meds were not helping. Come to find out, I have been trying to function with ZERO estrogen in my body. The symptoms mimic each other greatly. It makes me wonder how many women end up “crazy” for this reason. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when I saw the results. Now all I want to do is advocate for “mid-age” women to PUSH for every test there is when it comes to mental health. There can obviously be underlying issues to address alongside of it. If not for the grace of God and my Savior, Jesus, I wouldn’t be here to talk about it. Thank you for your transparency. We all need the support around these topics. God bless you! 🙌💞

You are very welcome for that. I do know so well that there are two sides to Bipolar and we, that have this disorder, suffer from both sides of the coin - so to speak. I very rarely get any kind of euphoria. Between a depressive episode and a dysphoric hypomania I will get a period will I have a lot of ideas and feel inspired, but this leads to overwhelm and thst leads to paralysing agitation which eventually leaves me exhausted and miserable. Good stuff.. I only got diagnosed recently, and it's so useful to have a label for what's going on when that constricting electric sting permeates my body

I am so glad you addressed the irritation/agitation because it can be so extreme and overwhelming even with myself at home. I try not to go out shopping when I am so irritated because as soon as I step into the supermarket the warbling, idiotic music makes me so angry I want to scream. People get on my nerves and it takes so much self control to not shout at them for speaking loudly for instance or doing something quite normal really but it sends me off so much I have to just try and calm myself by focusing on what I have to buy and not on the things that make me want to scratch my own face off. The only thing that saved me the other day was the vision of people staring at me in disbelief and me being carted out of the shop but I was so close to shouting my head off at a couple who were walking around as if they owned the supermarket and talking really loudly. My feelings scared me and I got out of there as quickly as I could. There have been times I have been so snappy with the check out person I have had to go back and apologise. It is not fun.

Hello and thank you so much for your note. What an excellent description of the irritation associated so closely with Bipolar ! @@estherherbert-bipolarstrongThank you for your reply because it was only when you mentioned "audible irritation" that I realised that although I get the general irritation I realised it is the audible irritation that sends me off like a frog in a sock! Hearing the crows cawing in the tree next to my house gives me such anger and murderous thoughts that at times I have been consumed with which way I can permanently send them to Heaven 😂 My neighbours just laugh and say "yes they are a pest aren't they?" Grrrr. Yes I have also nearly had to put my fingers in my ears and gritted my teeth to stop myself screaming over the chip eating and packet rustling on a train.

This is one of biggest issues . The anger and talking to myself or around people but it’s still to myself out loud. I have zero filter when I’m in this state. I get physical chest pains too. At time I don’t care who hears me or what they think about me. After math is complete embarrassment and feeling like a crazy person that everyone is judging. Then back to not caring. It’s exhausting and draining. The emotional rollercoaster and never knowing when this side arise. I have so many different triggers sometimes it could just be a particular noise sometimes it’s my own thoughts and sometimes it’s other people facial expressions or feelings of being disrespected.

Yes that rollercoaster is so difficult to be on. The surprise element of the moods is so discouraging and as you said can be humiliating depending on the circumstances surrounded them. I do understand and I do know that it is very exhausting. It is hard come by to have good days so I hope and pray as you stop and take stock and make any plans to combat those feelings when they hit that you will begin to manage them and have many good days. I know for sure much easier said than done but still doable - I believe that for you and with you ! #bipolarstrong - that is you !

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve been trying to get a clear diagnosis for several years now, and I feel like my primary symptom of mania is anger/rage. It’s so frustrating. I go through deep depressions, and I’m thrilled to finally be out of them and have enough energy to leave my apartment, but I have this hair trigger temper, and I go off on nothing. Then I feel so embarrassed and ashamed of my behaviour. Nothing about it feels good or euphoric. I appreciate your experience. I want medication so bad, but I’m having trouble finding a psychiatrist who will treat me and I don’t think I’ve been able to be very clear about my symptoms. You’re giving me hope that this could be managed. Because it’s exhausting for me

@@estherherbert-bipolarstrong thank you so much. You’re very kind. It’s helpful to hear that mania isn’t euphoric. What I experience isn’t what I expected, and I think that’s made it hard for me to figure out. I finally got into a psychiatrist in the midst of a suicidal mania, and she was just awful. She completely blew me off, told me meds were never going to help, and ordered me to more CBT. I’ve been doing therapy for 20 years. Something has changed in my symptoms, but she wouldn’t let me get a word out. I went home and decided she and the province wanted me to kill my self (I was watching all these news stories about MAID). That made me mad enough to not do it. I’ve been trying to keep track of my symptoms, and I wrote about how I was feeling during my last episode to take to my family doctor because I don’t remember how bad it was now. I’m trying to have faith that she can help me get the right treatment.

No prison would not be good ! I do know that this disorder is tough and what you can do to manage is good. No one can do it alone so I hope you reach out like you did just now. All the best as you battle and glad you tuned in !!

@@estherherbert-bipolarstrong Thank you for your kind words. Tbh, this was the first and only channel I found that really nailed the anger, aggression and guilt that comes along with that. It's awesome to have found a community of people who "get it". Therapists can only understand from a clinical perspective but, for me, it's the emotional part of it that I just can't seem to get past. Basically, thank you again for this platform to discuss this issue. New subscriber here. ☺️

Question: I know bipolar has the two main sides of episodes, but does it also just create a daily fight to deal with any kind of irritation, even if it isn't per say an episode?

Yes for sure it happens in all states of Bipolar. I just read this for you on google "are prominent symptoms of bipolar disorder (BD) that may occur during hypomanic, depressive and, especially, during mixed mood states" Thanks so much for writing.

@@karlgustafsson6000 How so? Please explain. My wife has used it for some time now and the results are better than any rx med that we have tried In our 15 years of dealing with these issues. She has actually been able to stop some of the rx meds all together. Curious as to what the down side is as I myself at 51 have been a life long cannabis user with 3 and 4 year breaks.
