Bira (cleansing ceremony) conducted at Redwing Mine, Penhalonga

Spirit mediums led the rituals last month and believe that the spirits of the land heard their pleas as there has not been any fatalities recorded.
This was the first bira to be conducted at the Betterbrands mining company’s mine.
The Manica Post understands that last year only, 17 people lost their lives due to accidents at the mine while four others died at the beginning of the year
