Birch Bark Canoe building with Chuck Commanda

Community build of a traditional Algonquin birch bark canoe with knowledge keeper Chuck Commanda in Doug Fluhrer Park as part of the Cataraqui Boatyard Project of the Friends of Kingston Inner Harbour. The final celebrations and opportunity to go on the water in the traditional canoe will be on September 26 and 27, 2020.

Love the looks of that 12 footer .. You can see that different birch bark pieces were spliced in the front, which is an idea if your limited on a full-length piece. Love the bow of this canoe. It would of been nice to see more of the construction of it.
