We stumbled our way into that valley last week. Difference was we had our slide in truck camper in the bed of our 1 ton truck. Definitely not a recommended rig for anyone to take down that steep access. Once there, the sights and camping were incredible. If you have an overland rig like the one in this video, this is a highly recommended destination. Thanks for posting.

Well I'm glad to hear you made it out and back again safely. High clearance and four-wheel drive with low range is helpful and I hope you had that going for you. Yes, that steep treacherous shelf road might be a real obstacle if it were raining, but sounds like you got up and out safely. Yes, the camping and views down there are exceptional and we will be returning again for an extended stay, possibly cross the river to the other side, there are a few more abandoned ranches on that side. I'm glad it could help and I hope it doesn't discourage you from going down there. I will note however that the road has degraded some from the time of this video. We were just down there again last month and the road is even a bit rougher now. Thanks for watching!

Did you need to use low gearing (especially for the steep climb to get out of there) , or you just stayed on regular automatic gearing, like you would on a generic softroad ? I got an AWD suv with 8.5 - 9 inch clearance (kind of like a Subaru).Based on your observations, would you drive such car there ?

@@blackpearlvoyager4174 You two are an inspiration to my husband and I. We just started our 60s. We get away as much as his job allows us to. Fortunately he travels throughout the states for work. I've traveled with him and we've seen a lot. It just makes us hunger for more lol. My granddaughter told me that I need to start making videos on my channel of our adventures as well so I have started. Thank you for posting your adventures. @@5wheels521 I agree with your daughter. I think you should post your videos. And here's why. Monica and I don't do it for clicks or money or anything like that just as a kind of video journal of all the things we did in our later life so that when we're gone from this earth, our kids grandkids, great grandkids can all look back and see the kind of life we led. We still do informational videos and reviews of things that we like. Things that we use and places we go so that other people might enjoy them too. But that's not the main reason for our channel. So it's a great hobby. Learn how to edit videos and don't be afraid to put them up on KZbin👍🏼
