Once the gunwale lashings and stem lashings are completed, and the ribs dried, we can finally cut them to length and insert them in the canoe.

I think you've inspired me to build a birchbark canoe👍 you have built a beautiful canoe that you should be very proud of. I built a cedar strip last winter and loved the whole process and im looking forward to attempting this. I have a feeling im gonna have a hard time finding the right birch tree.

Looks fantastic Steve .. Is this the last video of this build ?

Unfortunately it is ... for now. I've finished this canoe and paddled it last summer, it's awesome. Didn't have time to film the paddling part. I sold this canoe and will deliver it soon. I need to do some winter bark scraping for designs on it before delivering it to the buyer. I'll try to do a little video on the winter bark scraping. I haven't been very active lately, I am trying to save up some money for a new computer so I can start posting and editing again. Thanks for your continued support and interest ! Steve

@@NomadicWoodsman OK because I was trying to find it and couldn't. Must feel a bit weird to have to sell something you put so much of yourself into ? I did see an article with this 16ft BB Canoe and then realized it was your Canoe and you paddling it ! No need to thank me .. I thank you for all the great advice.

Combien d'heures as tu mis dans ce projet à date ? Vraiment hâte de le voir sur l'eau !
@NomadicWoodsman Жыл бұрын

Never had any problems with shavings getting stuck in between the sheeting and bark ?
@NomadicWoodsman3 ай бұрын
Hi, not sure what you mean by shavings getting stuck between bark and sheathing ? I make sure to clean the bark ''envelope'' before putting the sheathing in. I'll pass a small broom and rag. I'll also even do a quick ''shop vac'' pass to pick up any saw dust or shavings. This way, when you go to put in the ribs and sheathing it all fits in nice and snug and no issues.

Why are there no subtitles on? So deaf people can't read what you say.:-((
