I loved that. Estuaries and mudflats are such amazingly productive places: I'm not surprised that you were being eaten alive by midges and mosquitos. Thank you Patrik.

They are! It's also very easy to spot animals as the terrain is so flat, but at the same time, it's harder to approach them. Thank you for watching :)

This is one of the best videos, in my opinion. Really great shots, clips, and scenery. I find it remarkable how far away you are positioned to get such closeups.

Thank you so much! Yes, besides swans and some ducks, all the other birds are very shy so the distance is crucial :) cheers

Thank you for watching the video! Did you like the timelapse I included? ps. the first bird in the video is the Wood sandpiper (Tringa glareola), not the Purple sandpiper (thanks Lily M for correcting me).

Those were some lovely well tracked shots. For some of the birds, have you tried to punch in even closer? Or you feel you loose too much quality? - Cheers, Duarte
@PatrikInNature Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, on most of them, I could without losing too much quality. Especially on the photos. Or, like someone suggested in the comments... I should just get the 800mm lens ;)
@MossyEarth Жыл бұрын
@@PatrikInNature what is this lens? 600mm?
@PatrikInNature Жыл бұрын
Yes, 150-600mm. I guess a much more affordable option for me is to just get better at approaching the animals :)

@@PatrikInNature Hello Patrik,i live in the south-east and only make videos of natural life in a nature reserve close to my hometown.Mostly birds but when the migration is over there are so much more interesting species to film.Thanks for your interest and will follow your channel.Greetings Gijs

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I've been to Netherlands on a trip before, but not with my wildlife photo gear. I will have to do it again in the future to hopefully film some wildlife as well. All best, Patrik

Če te zanima, trenutno je nekaj flamingotov v solinah v Ninu. Glede na pretekla leta znajo ostati tu čez zimo, ni pa nujno.

I have never seen a bird dive straight down into the water like a rock being dropped from the sky. That was weird!
@PatrikInNature Жыл бұрын
Yeah, they dive similar to kingfishers, only from a larger height. Impresive birds!
@Ghost-Mama Жыл бұрын
@@PatrikInNature until I started watching your videos I had never heard of kingfisher’s, except for the Kookaburra and I didn’t even know that they were similar. I saw them in videos of the Australia zoo, but not in person. I grew up in the Adirondack mountains 🏔 in America, but now I live in the South East in the lowlands and the nature here is not only different but also few and far in between, as it’s a rural/city area. I miss the nature sounds of my childhood in the mountains. There is such a difference in the ambiance. Your videos are nice 👍🏻 for the memories of nature lol.
