As a Brit I’m not familiar with the birds of your part of the world, although some looked familiar under different names. Great video with some good shots.

Awesome pictures. Do you know of any good spots out near Kingston? I’m near Belleville and also have a 70D

We've never made it out to Kingston. Try eBird - they can give you recent sitings in your area

I don't know how many thousands of miles separate us, I'm in the UK, but put a camera in a birder's hand anywhere in the world and the only difference between them are the birds they shoot (with a camera).

The sparrow on the goldenrod blossoms gone by was composed quite nicely whilst it turned it's head back at you... This type of shooting is precisely the primary reason I use the 7D ( original version ) fully customizable camera... ( it is blazing fast & intelligent ) I did notice on the Info screen your focus point was on center. I do use a tripod, therefor I have greater lateral stability using the camera with the EF 400 mm, f/5.6L, USM attached, therefor I shoot with Center Spot Focus, ISO 400, & will typically shoot at 400 of a sec. or faster, depending on the light & other variables. I find noise is acceptable from ISO 800, downward... From ISO 1000, upward, it becomes problematic with the 7D crop... I would think if you & Ashley simply used a mono-pod, this would be in your best interest for an increase in stability, imho... I really enjoyed this presentation... Thanks, Bill Farr...
