You're very welcome to visit me in Germany near Nürnberg, we have an abundance of green woodpepckers :) That bustard suit is amazing, I wonder if it could be applied in more cases, for getting close to cranes or herons maybe

Great video mike as well as the Great Bustard , Hen harrier, Merlin and one of the rarest Stone Curlew ! An awesome area although local I still haven't explored it all yet ! Been passed by a few tanks and usually enter via Upavon. Rushall drive 👍😍

Nice video, Mike. Down here on Dartmoor I go out and sit in a few places to photograph Skylarks, no cam or hiding is required, just a bit of quiet and patience and they come in so close I don't even need to crop full frame phots.

They must've known you were coming, Mike, assuming this was relatively recent. They resurfaced the road leading to the White Horse viewing area (by the Westbury sign). I regularly drive up onto Salisbury Plain to take drone shots - not the way you went, but via a nearby village. (Although, I live in Westbury). It was only this year I discovered that what I was hearing much of the time up there was a corn bunting. I'd never heard of them before. Great video.

Some nice video clips. I particularly like the skylark. I‘ve never noticed you using any specific audio equipment. Do you just use the in camera mic?

I have a Rode rifle mic, but usually dub the sound on afterwards. Including bird song.

Hi Mike, We can see The Westbury White Horse from our village in Somerset! I have a Nikon D850 + 200-500 f5.6 and because of the weight (and my age) I have been thinking of the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III and either the 300mm f/4 IS Pro Lens or the 100-400mm F5.0-6.3. Seeing you appear to have gone Sony, would you recommend the change please?

We have hit a new generation of AF. The Sony A1, canon r5, r6 have it and it is likely all others brands will need to catch up. Assuming Olympus does in their next body I will stay with them. I only have one Sony lens and body. If flight pictures are not too important to you the Olympus is very good.

Its a bird ring. Very common. Bird ringers ring birds to identify them.
