Bird photography on remote ARCTIC ISLAND // Svalbard PHOTO ADVENTURE - part 1

Finally my dream came true. Going to Svalbard to photograph wildlife and birds in the arctic. I have always been fascinated by this place. Svalbard is a part of Norway, and has the northernmost city in the world, Longyearbyen.
The landscape of Svalbard is nothing you have experience before. It is almost like coming to another planet. The firs days of photography we photographed birds, like barnacle geese, purple sandpiper and red throated loon.

Simply beautiful images, Trond! There's product by Kirk Enterprise Solutions called Low Angle Pod-Tan-, It's great for photographing close to the ground. You can slide the plate very easily on the ground. Love the video!

Beautiful. Did you see any signs of bird flu? The barnacle geese should be heading back to the Solway in another month. It is estimated that bird flu killed about 1/3rd of the Solway birds last winter. Just hoping that they had a good breeding season.
