Also a good point I read elsewhere , Flax (Phormium) not sure it is good or bad but can be hazardous perhaps for chicks learning to fly as they may slide down the leaf and get stuck inside the base of the flax plant. Not sure if common but perhaps consider this aspect of any plant.

Plant ID can sometimes be tough, I would have assumed the Alocasia you have to be Caladium since yours look so different to the Alocasia that I have in my terrariums.

6:16 hoya is extremely toxic to parrots. I lost my first pair years back when they got to mine, they ate square centimeter total, one died in few minutes, other over the night.

Hi Dave thankyou. Several types of Ivy-including the common English ivy-can be deadly to birds. It can cause gastrointestinal issues, convulsions, skin irritation, and more.

Although Neem leaves and seeds are unlikely to cause toxicity issues in very small quantities, if a bird has access to many seeds and continually ingests them, risks present themselves - a risk that bird owners don't need to be taking. Neem oil is made to be used externally, not internally so best to keep away from birds.

Yes caladiums are sometimes reffered to as elephant ears they belongs to the same family as colocasia and alocasia and are toxic to both birds and any other animal that chews on the leafs.

I've got a wide variety (50+) plants in my aviary. Natives, grasses, noxious weeds, fruiting plants & "poisonous plants" too...no issues whatsover. Poisonous varieties such as golden cane palm, hydrangea, ficus(figs), ligustrum (privet), buxus, frangipanni, murraya, tobacco & solanum. Birds are smart, they know what they can and can't eat. Basically I use plants from experience and what I've seen in other collections. I really want to plant hemp in my aviary!

Thats amazing!!! I was amazed to find out I had one that was toxic to them in the aviary, but at the same time its been there for a few years and has never caused any problems. Hemp is an amazing plant, Ive seen a few breeders with hemp in their aviary. If it was legal I would have it here aswell in my aviary.

The majority of jasmin species are safe because they are a nontoxic plant. With the exeption of Carolina jessamine (Gelsemium spp.) which some people also call jasmine, it has a moderate toxicity that may cause weakness, respiratory problems, seizures or death in pets

why would you suggest feeding meat to an animal that is 100% herbivore? Their digestive systems aren't designed to process it unlike chickens.

Pine is considered a safe tree for birds, but do be mindful of any sap produced by the tree, as this can stick to your birds feathers. Additionally, pine has been listed as potentially harmful in some articles, but those mainly relate to wood shavings and so not relevant to bird keeping.

Wow thats cold !!! Where are you located ? you can always use artificial plants also if you want to decorate an aviary, but ive never seen anyone keeping birds at those temps unless they are indoors in a climate controled room.

There are some plants in your list that are very dangerous. Also some plants are maybe safe for finches but not for parrots.
