Beautiful video David. Loved to see the birds (the redshank is a favorite), the bold cats, the strong zebralike horses, playing birds, fighting marmots. The vast landscapes & remote living former nomads. Dankjewel voor het delen Heleen 😊. In de 12 heilige nachten heb ik de tijd genomen om te kijken.

I visited Ladakh in September this year. Hanle and Tso-Kar are great locations, although the reality of the latter differs from what you can read on the internet. The lake is shrinking, so does the quantity and quantity of the birds. One point, I have a slightly different opinion, is regarding „every visitor shall spend a few days upon arrival of complete rest, in order to adjust to the high altitude“. It might be related to age, but at my end (58) upon arrival and pick up at the airport, we went birding in the afternoon. Thanks for putting that video together!

At @5:50 the Bird is Greater White-fronted Goose and not a Greylag Goose. A rare passage migrant to Ladakh and a great Record of the species in Ladakh. 🎉👍🏻

thank you. white fronted goose is an indian lifer for me. did you identify it in the movie or you know about this goose in this location?

@@mrdavidstanton it's great that it is a Lifer for you. I knew about this location at Nyoma. The bird is still there at the same place. The latest sighting was on 3rd September, 2024 when I saw it.
