I have to agree with everyone. You’re a good instructor, who conveys the concepts clearly and concisely. I’m getting a lot out of this as “the enemy” trying to learn how to break the back of this frustratingly resilient series of engines. “Just Ash the Frak & Negate the Nervall” advice wasn’t cutting it, so this is REALLY helpful. Although a section on how to react to common disruptions would probably help your viewers. Your students won’t always go first after all, and if they DO, a lot of people are going to scoop if they see bird & a frak to follow without an available hand trap.

You can also use Simorgh to special summon barrier statue and locking the opponent out of special summoning completely except wind monsters

20:29 abit extra strategy U can add Kitt instead and use Ferrjit to special summon her, then kitt => Doom Eagle=>Shuraig=>Simorg(Shuraig add Kerass during process The point to special summon Kitt is because you can send one spell/trap to the grveyard which in this case is Tri Brigade Oath- my 41st card With Oath it will be safer if i got hit by DRNM or Droplet, just in case

At 32:30 when you choose nervall, I think you can choose wagtail instead and make recital from dd crow and cobalt. search warbler with recital then link recital and sapphire to make blossom. use blossom to summon wagtail search bird call. use bird call grab beryl summon warbler and use warbler to summon lyrilusc from grave. make 2nd recital with wagtail and the other lyrilusc search nervall. link simorg with blossom and warbler(cycle for another out). special beryl from hand bring back recital attach from grave to search out another lyrilusc. Make draco from the 2 recitals and call it a turn. You now have draco and simorgh and a beryl on board, if your cycle from blossom drew into tri brigades you could keep going using your beryl as a base and make ancient warrior. I think that all works and if not you can change things slightly to not get the extra beryl out at the end.

Warbler can't use its ability when other monsters are on the field. You could make a minor change here and use Beryl to summon from grave to make the second recital.

If you special summon warbler from hand from an external special summon from hand like bird call, warbler still let's you grab a lyrilusc from grave. I also thought about it more and you can use both recitals as link material and bring both of them back with warbler and beryl respectively to still make draco.

For the comboing with a bad hand part, you could have ended on simorgh, 4 material robin, and avian as well. Instead of taking canary off of recital, take wagtail. Link recital and cobalt into ferrijit, ferrijit effect to SS Wagtail, wagtail adds bird call, bird call adds canary, link ferrijit and wagtail into simorgh, use canary effect to target swallow, xyz into Robin, use swallow effect to attach recital, then wagtail effect to attach to robin as well. Move to end phase, SS avian. Could even add to next turn plays if you use ferrijit draw effect and draw a canary, or even a hand trap. Put called by back if you pulled a card that'll help or just put back the card you drew. Final hand would be nerval, ash, called by (or a potential hand trap/lyrilusc/tri-brigade) to start your opponents turn.

getting kitt from nerval to SS a harpie link monster and sending rendezvous into the GY by linking to simorgh and then xyz ensemblue and getting barrier statue is also good. There is also that one card fraktall combo where you need to discard one other monster and end up with a board with F0, ensemblue, apex, and simorgh but it's very risky and prone to handtraps. So the best way when you get fraktall is to just send nerval get kitt, normal summon kitt, SS harpie, link to simorgh and send rendezvous to G.Y. then barrier statue or apex.

I'm really new to this game and using a bit cheaper version of this deck where there's no apex avian. Does it affect it too much? Is Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds a good replacement?

I wouldn't consider Apex Avian required to play the deck, and you could definitely use Barrier Statue as a fill-in for it. That said, Apex Avian provides some important protection for your boards, particularly against spells and traps (especially Raigeki and Lightning Storm). All in all I would call Apex Avian optimal but not necessarily essential.

Depends, bird up is combo deck and will lose to a maxx c, zodiac is less combo heavy and will have less negates but will use less summons and loses to hand traps less often due to its simple and low summon count combos.
