@@bkjeong4302 actually it could be that folks who worked the islands back in the day saw it first. But since they stayed for months on the island they probably forgot about it when they came back to the main island or maybe over time the stories were forgotten. And yes, this recently was rediscovered by the anglers that come on fishing trips to the islands. I know that fly fishing has picked up recently around these islands and it has become a popular fishing destination amongst pros and amateurs.

@@qbconnect2883 I've been once to south Africa and once to ivory coast. There's not much for me to do on the mainland if it's not just for sight seeing. Our cultures are very very different. Yap Kai Yang I think most sea birds can filter out the salt
@Usulcardo7 жыл бұрын
Most seabirds have specialized glands behind their eyes that filters salt and rejects it through the nostrils. Sometimes you can see seabirds "sneeze" , in fact they are squirting the salt. :)
@Durio_zibethinus7 жыл бұрын
Invincible Nightmare what an interesting fact, thanks!
@Goudhaantje19937 жыл бұрын
This is similar to how most saltwater fish function. They constantly lose water to the environment (water tends to flow from low to high salt saturations, and the sea water is more salty than the fish), so they must keep drinking to replenish their bodily water supply. Their kidneys filter out the salt. All animals need water, so if you live only in or near salt water, you need to adapt. Humans simply don't have any of such adaptations to filter water from sea water and dispose of the salt. As such, we can't drink it to gain anything from it.
