Great video(s) and I am using them to study for my self-guided trip in Peru for 2025. There are two birds that you might double check for ID...Paramo Pipit looks like a female Plumbeous/Ash-breasted Sierra Finch and the Pardodi's Hemispingus looks like a Citrine Warbler. Incredible photos and videos....thank you so much for sharing!

Amazing video, thanks! Use it to organize a trip myself. Can I ask though if you could put all the locations in chronological order in the comments? Some are very hard to spell 😅

Hi, this is pretty much our itinerary, for the Cusco part at least: www.amazonbirding.com/birding-southern-peru It was quite fast paced to fit it all in, but well worth it.

Amazing video. I am planning for a trip to Machu Picchu and Aguas Calientes. Do you have any advice about any good birding locations there?

We didn't see much in Machu Picchu itself - apparently it's good for Inca Wren but we didn't see it there. On the bus back down, we got off just before the bridge here: maps.app.goo.gl/fLaSs5Zt9HK1nurq7 - not sure if it's an official stop or if our guide just asked the driver to let us off. We walked around the forest a bit, then crossed the bridge and visited the butterfly centre which had some nice feeders. Then walked all the way back along the river to Aguas Calientas.

@@spottybeetles1040 That's very useful information. Thank you so much. If I am not going to stay at the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, do you think I can still see Andean Cock-of-the-rock around Aguas Calientes? I see there are some observations on eBird for the general Aguas Calientes town hotspot.

We didn't see any there, but the road I mentioned goes right past the hotspots so you may be lucky. It's also an easy walk down the railway track to the heliport. Good luck!
