This is a great episode- I really enjoyed it! It's got a little bit of an Anthonhy Bourdain feel to it- using birds (in his case food) as a means to unlock conversation about the culture and lifestyle of a region. Works for me.

Another great episode from a great series. I loved the short section on the Parker's Antbird; I watched this episode almost exactly 29 years after the great Ted Parker died in a plane accident doing an Rapid Ecological Assessment : -(

And what a loss Ted Parker was to the world of ornithology and birding, it's quite remarkable when you're using eBird or Merlin in the Neotropics, how many of the field recordings are his, and usually of the rarest, most elusive birds.
