[Bird Songs] Screeching Calls Of A Rufous Treepie Bird

Calls of a Rufous treepie Bird (Dendrocitta Vagabunda). This bird is a common and regular visitor in my backyard. Recently I had a nice oppertunity to record this bird's calls. I hope you all will appreciate it.

Bird Information:
Name: Rufous Treepie
Binomial name: Dendrocitta vagabunda
Other names: as below:
- Assamese - কোকলোঙা, Bengali - খয়েরি হাঁড়িচাচা, Gujarati - ખેરખટ્ટો, Hindi - महालत, Kannada - ಮಟಪಕ್ಷಿ, Malayalam - ഓലഞ്ഞാലി, Marathi - टकाचोर, Tamil - வால் காக்கை.
Conservation Status (IUCN): Least Concern (IUCN 3.1)
Habitat range: Mainland India, Himalayan region, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, laos and Thailand.
Shot at area/ Location: Howrah, West Bengal, India
My further notes and observations:
I see this bird very often around my home. The calls of this bird is pretty loud and can be heard from a great distance as you can see or hear above. It probably searches for food and sometime looks for building materials to build its nest, that however I am not sure of. I am happy to present this bird to you on 'Soumo's Birdbook'.

@@SoumosBirdbook , it is not a coincidence but nowadays birders especially those who indulge in bird photography indulge in recorded bird songs to spot the birds from their jungle or foliage hideouts and then take their pictures. I also heard this bird outside in my garden when I was playing these videos, sitting close to a window.

I find this bird very mystic and shy. At first I thought it's Greater Coucal but when I saw it flying I realized it's some different bird and it's back with wings all spread with a long black tail looks majestic. I am currently living near an agricultural land in some remote location, a small town in Chatra district of Jharkhand, full of trees and water sources. Good location to watch birds actually. Here, hornbills, raptors and birds from the crow family are very common and also many water bird species , I ve spotted at least 5 kinds of kingfisher.

Thank you for uploading. A pair of this species visits the water bowl which we have placed in our garden in Goa. I was curious to know the name of this bird. So I first looked for it on google to identity it's name. Then just to be sure it's the same bird, I tried to identify it's call and was directed to your video. At last, I'm satisfied. The sound I heard from the bird that visits our garden is the same as the one posted by you. But, how were you able to get a video of this bird? I've tried various times but these birds are so sensitive, they just fly away at the least of movement. Great job!!!

Yes, I think no problem in it; but birds often injure themselves in shiny glass of windows. They think their reflection is their enemy and try to attack it.
