Great video! Your bird labeled Puerto Rican Flycatcher is a Caribbean Elaenia. I especially like the Elfin-woods Warbler and Puerto Rican Tanager, nice!

You are correct!! Good catch!! I can’t relabel a video, but thanks for spotting that.

Do you know which bird in Puerto Rico sounds like they are laughing at night? I live in San German cant find the name of it
@BrettHartl6 жыл бұрын
Probably Puerto Rico Screech Owl, if it is truly after dark and you are hearing calls.

Incredible shots! May I ask where in Puerto Rico did you film these? Thank you for sharing this beautiful work.

The southwest dry forest - Bosque Estatal De Guánica and the southwest mountains - Maricao forest

Brett Hartl Wow, both places about 20 minutes from where I grew up in, Sabana Grande. Looking forward to visiting them next time I'm in the area. Thank you!

Man you saw an elfin woods warbler, they're rare.
@BrettHartl3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but if in the right habitat during spring and you are patient, you will hear them sing and can find them
@AlexisVega-xi5yq3 жыл бұрын
@@BrettHartl I've only seen one once and never again. I believe they were discovered as recent as the 1960's right?
@BrettHartl3 жыл бұрын
@@AlexisVega-xi5yq That is correct, they were the last warbler to be identified. Check out the Maricao State Forest, I saw several in the higher elevation regions
@AlexisVega-xi5yq3 жыл бұрын
@@BrettHartl cool, I've been to Maricao State Forest a few times. I live in Añasco and I can see the Maricao State Forest mountain (Monte del Estado) from my house. The only Elfin Woods Warbler I've seen was at my house so I got pretty lucky I'd say.

That is probably a common dove, there are a lot that make that sound
@LuciusVulpes3 жыл бұрын
@@julioliarts Never heard a dove sound like that, but whatever that animal is, it always sounds exactly like in this video.
@miltonbernier98543 жыл бұрын
@@LuciusVulpes Yes, they are all over the place I grew up! We call them paloma turca o turkish dove, and when I was a kid the cooing sounded eerie, we related them with the dead!
@iovannadeiraola36102 жыл бұрын
That is a Tortola (Dove) for sure without a doubt. Not a Paloma.
