Ever heard of a guy named Stevie Wonder? I understand the compliment, but if that were true, Jarrod wouldn't sing and play with the influences of so many other fine talents, living and passed on. Here he even wears his hat like the late Donny Hathaway.

@@stannote8312 let me rephrase it - it can't be debated with me as I find it inherently pointless as my opinion expressed is purely my own based on what I hear, of course musicians are of differing standards, but if their intricate complicated musicianship doesn’t affect me in the way the music of someone less technically proficient then really it’s a moot point, any enforced debate to me always comes across as condescending and arrogant in that the debater feels they have a superior take, I have nothing to prove where my taste and knowledge of music is concerned so debates are a simple waste of mental energy.

I feel this brother's finally gonna break through this year! Six-year buildup since his critically-acclaimed debut album dropped is so strong it's almost inevitable. He's in the same class as Kem, Frank McComb, Gregory Porter, and Remy Shand (where are you!?!?!?). You can tell Jarrod got bit by the soul bug at a VERY early age, only way you can get a totally pure "old school" sound like that... ;-)
