This movie is actually one of the best hmong movie that I've watched. This movie started out slow, I tried watching this movie a few times before but you have to be patient. The story line is actually really touching to the heart if you understand the meaning of it. I absolutely love this movie.

Bought the movie when it came out love it and still do! I believe that a lot of the Hmong groups now and days don't really focus on good movies like this but instead xas movies. All in all please do make more movies in the future you guys are awesome!!

I'm a bit confused by the story, but this actor is a talent. Noticed him in some other films, he is a great comedian. His role in this film turned 180 degrees. He understands acting, eye contact, speech very well. The only minus is when it comes to Hmong in rural countries, they tend to be extremely-extremely informal and blunt. If they come across someone who acts pretty rude like him, they will not be afraid to let him hear them swearing at him. The rural people in this film are way too open minded and nice. Xab Thoj is the best example to portray the most authentic and realistic personalities of the mountainous Hmong people. You know what I mean if you recall how the main actress here used to acted as the hilarious Mab Sua from Xab's old movies. She portrayed a super genuine Hmong attitude back in the old days. The style in this film is very much... I'll say it's very modern, very Americanized and similar to that of Korean or Chinese contemporary movies. However, I can careless since everyone nailed the acting. I will only complain if it's gimmicky and it's not at all. This is a huge improvement. Well deserved to be Award winning Hmong film.

Overall great movie! I found the beginning a little slow, but towards the end water works. Would love to see more from this production team and more about Hmong culture/traditions. Scary is a plus.

Can't reply to u Chasuav Yang, but anyways I was gona say that it was a slow movie, but u already mention it, but it's unique in a way bcuz it's nothing like 90 something percent of those Hmong Romance, Horror, and Comedy. Indeed this is something new for the Hmong films.
