Well done! Was a little confused at first but I think it makes sense now. Plot twist, maybe Teng's older brother drowned Amy, anyone thinks so too? Jk.

This is one hella of a twist Hmong short film. Still missing the pieces from the puzzle. Either teng spirit possess to the white guy Steve body to make him talked about teng family crossed the Mekong river. No way in a hell a white guy would say that to a therapist unless he's Hmong descendant sort of way. Obviously when teng brother came knocking on the door. That already gave it a way something wrong with teng. Teng brother even hinted by saying "I'm going back to Laos". While he was iwearing a Hmong clothes. This sort of thing showed us Hmong guys cannot married a white woman and live the American dream.

There's always the flashback of the white boy's father carrying the dead body of Teng, it looks like he was going to rescue Teng but then Teng died. Since then, Teng followed the White man thinking he's the White man's son. I think it makes sense, considering that when Teng freshly died, it was still around wartime, doesn't matter what race, anyone witnessing the crossing of Mekong river in real time knows Hmong history for sure. The White man at the scene knows Hmong history for sure to be there at the scene. They didn't have enough budget to make the scene look real like it's Thailand/Laos and perhaps the White man should be a soldier or journalist of some sort to make sense. When I saw the guy (brother) knocking the door for the first time wearing the Hmong necklace, I thought it was the typical Hmong ghost stories, he was the one who drowned Amy cause he wanted to marry her so he's visiting as a son-in-law. Nice plot twist.

So in this movie Teng & his brother Kou both died during crossed the Mekong river. And Teng spirit in up in America with Steve family. He’s a lose soul. Now kou trying to bring him back home(Laos). If I am not mistaken!!😮
