Love slipjoints! As for your guys two questions: In Barlow knives with two blades, they will always come out the side of the only bolster! If one came out of the other side it would need another bolster therefore it would not be a "Barlow" The use of the two diferent blade shapes, the Sheep foot for all kind of food processing including spreading butter, jam, peanut butter, and stirring the sugar in your coffee! The clip point is used for all the rest!

According to the Swisstech archivist, in Switzerland, with whom I discussed the toenail clipper tool, that model was last made in 1981.

Sheepsfoot blades were made for triming sheep's hooves, also used for slicing without the risk if piercing and are also great for draw cuts.

My favorite “SwissTech” is the “Doppelt” Ive gone back to my roots and am into classic slip joints the “Doppelt” is a modern version of a Barlow! Love the Gerundet too. I EDC the Doppelt! I use it everyday. It’s non-obtrusive to the “OMG HE HAS A KNIFE!” Crowd. My other carry knife is an Emerson CQC6 original I had custom ordered from Ernest Emerson back in the late 80’s early 90’s.

Looks like I'll have to go check out the knives next time I visit Walmart. I gotta say I'm interested in Swisstech. Thanks for your time guys. Always a pleasure. Double bladed Barlow knives often have a common pivot for both blades. I own a Boker Tree Brand, 2 bladed non-locking folder that has both blades pivoting from the same end.

2 different companies Swiss + Tech all the old multi tools and such Walmart brand Swiss Tech no plus in the name and the logo is a tree USA designs built in china… love both companies products… I have 3 wurdings a holiday edition and the grundent looking to get rhe Balken next…

I got to try out the little swiss tech folder knife in the walmart gift box. I was not impressed with it at all. I always end up finding better knives for the same price as the swiss tech stuff.
